Terrible service, terrible quality, terrible value…read more I paid a hefty retainer 9 months ago no action was taken on my case. Absolutely nothing done. I've called every month since and still had nothing done on my case just excuses of why nothing has been done. I was told I would not get the retainer back . It is so bizarre that they can take a retainer and never provide a service and still keep your money. Fraudulent attorney.

Poor Communication I retained Daphne Clements-Stevens to…read morerepresent me in my divorce case and paid a $4,600 retainer with the expectation of diligent representation and clear communication. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Throughout my representation, I repeatedly requested updates regarding my case but often received vague responses, delayed replies, or no response at all. Many of my emails went unanswered, leaving me frustrated and uncertain about the status of my case during an already difficult time. I was also concerned by the lack of billing transparency. Despite being told that my retainer had been depleted by accrued fees, I repeatedly requested itemized billing statements and an accounting of my funds. Although I was advised that billing was being prepared, I never received documentation explaining or supporting the charges. Due to the lack of communication, transparency, and progress in my case, I ultimately retained new counsel, resulting in additional legal expenses. To date, I have not received a complete accounting of my retainer funds. This review reflects my personal experience as a former client.

Also requested a refund for the fee I paid for this and they refused. They also had the wrong social security number on the documents. Attention to details were extremely lacking. Choosing an attorney is a very personal and one of the most important and expensive decisions you…read morewill ever make. I can only give my experience with this firm and hope it helps someone in making a decision. Upon our first meeting with a partner and another attorney, we were advised they would take our case. We were paired with an attorney who was fairly new and inexperienced in the type of case we had, unbeknownst to us. Communication was extremely poor and very few of our questions were answered, emails not responded to, and phone calls seldomly returned. We had done a lot of the background work and submitted documentation, and we were told by our attorney, "you're making my job easier" and "you've done a lot of my work", but after almost a year, we were no further along than when we started, but $10,000 poorer with very little answers to the valid questions we had. There were documents and interrogatories submitted to the court that we found ourselves by going to the Manatee County Court website that we were never told about or given to us by our attorney. We were always told by this attorney, "I'll have to ask "so and so" to find out an answer to that question, only to never get our answer. It was only after a new partner started, eight months after we started, that we had some of our questions answered. By then, for us it was too late. All through the process we were told by our attorney we had a strong case. In our opinion, by saying that, the firm was able to bill us more money to string us along. In disgust, we eventually dropped our case. We had very poor counsel and I would never use this firm again, nor would I recommend due to our experience with them. We take responsibility for not dropping them sooner, but that does not justify their poor service.
