For those of you not familiar with zero turn mowers, a big issue is they ride extremely rough if your yard isn't smooth as glass.
I've had my zero turn for about 8 years and each cutting season gets harder to tolerate as I get older.
Newer models of very expensive commercial mowers come with suspensions that soften the ride.
However my mower is an older model and would be considered light commercial grade.
I've been researching every website I can find looking for a fix to my rough ride. I finally found Trac Seats. Trac Seats sells a universal fit seat suspension unit that mounts under your zero turn's seat. I read review after review and decided to give it a try. Trac Seat's website is very up-front about some mowers may need minimal modifications to make their seat fit.
Yesterday I received my seat suspension kit. Yes, I did have to make some very minor modifications which amounted to adding shims/washers under my seat and rerouting the wire from my seat safety switch. None of it major changes.
After getting my suspension mounted, I took my mower for a quick test drive over the roughest part of my yard.
To say I happy with my purchase would be putting it mildly.....I was elated!
My ride was tremendously smoother and more comfortable. Hopefully no more feeling like I've been mugged after cutting my 1.10 acres.
I also want to point out, if you buy this suspension direct from Trac Seats or on Amazon, the price is $164.99.
If you buy the very same product through zero turn mower dealers, the prices range from $299.00 to as high as $349.00. Just FYI. read more
