Its always good to support local businesses when possible, but I can't recommend Jimmy's. If…read moreyou're looking for a nice selection of used gear, it's decent. And that's because Polk County is just filled with mediocre to beginner instruments and amps every where. The reason people praise this place is because it's literally not Guitar Center. If you're looking for a good customer service experience, this isn't it. Its just a step above a pawn shop with the bars on the windows and buzz in front doors. The transactions (unfortunately) I've done with them. Jimmy bullies you into an agreement and tries to make you feel like he's doing you a favor.

I took a lower unit in for repair and was told that the gearcase was frozen up, they could fix it,…read moreand that they would give me a call when finished. They never called me once, instead, I had to place follow up calls on a weekly basis. Finally, after they had the unit for a month I called and was told that the mechanic accidentally cracked the housing and they would have to search for a used lower unit and use it. After another month passed, I dropped by the shop to see what was going on and was told it was ready. I installed the unit and it, too, had issues and would not spin the prop. Basically, they had the lower unit for 2 months, broke it even more and then replaced it with a non-working used lower unit. They did not charge me for this "service" and I ended up not being able to use their replacement lower unit. Total waste of time and the lower unit I got was not nearly as nice looking as the one that I brought in. I don't recommend them at all and would give a zero rating if I could.

He first came by to consult on the best product for our needs & then scheduled our install, which was completed in a very efficient fashion. We were extremely pleased with his perseverance in resolving the issue which turned out to be totally unrelated to his install. We highly recommend Tektronics for your audio/visual installation needs.
