Certainly recommended is the Obazda accompanied by a freshly baked Pretzel, perfect pairing for their Hausbrau beer, a Radler or a Dudler (if you are looking for a softer refreshing drink). Deer antiers are hanging in the guest room what is common for a certain kind of traditional German places but not everyones taste. I know already my grandfather used to go there. So it is also a very traditional place for Speyer. It is in a street paralleling the Maximilian (main) street, the Korngasse. even tough it is not the main street you may walk there in the dark. I you walk along the Maximilianstrasse from the Cathedral (Dom) to the city tower (Altpörtel) the street narrows after the Café Hindenburg with a building called Alte Münz. Turn right there at the fountain and then the next opportunity after the fountain left (at the Schwanen Apotheke). Then walk down the Korngasse straight forward passing several other restaurants, a church (on the right), some Italian food shops also on the right and still straight forward at the chocolate shop. It is right beside this shop. Booking a table in advance for the evenings is a good idea but its worth going there and try and find out if there are some seats left. Don't be astonished if you are offered to join foreign people's table meaning sharing a table with other guests even if you don't know them. You may agree to do so because this is common in Speyer.
