When I was little there was nothing I loved more than looking around Gamleys, I could literally spend hours browsing the shelves looking at all the toys and just imagining having a bedroom big enough to hold them all and enough hours to play with them all (ie, no school or homework). Fast forward to now, me, a 30 something with a baby and I am again loving looking at toys.
Of course, Gamleys has gone, there are very few toy shops around, unless you count the giant stores which you find in industrial estates, so when I was told that this place had opened I was excited to go see it.
I was very impressed with the selection of toys available and the prices are very reasonable given that it is only part of a small chain of stores owned by people who used to work for the failed Woolworths (RIP Woollies another place I used to spend hours browsing).
So why not a five star? Well, the branch is smaller than it could be, which means it is at times difficult to get round if you have a stroller/pushchair and also there is a limit to the items they can stock. read more
