This is a really delightful store specialises in wooden children's toys. I thought looking at the stock as I came into the shop that it would be expensive but was surprised to find it was very reasonable. I bought a wooden kitchen from this shop for my toddler before Christmas and am very happy with its look and quality. The owner was chatty and very helpful and even let me reserve the item with no deposit. The hand puppets are really good quality and highly quirky. I really like the set up play green grocers with wooden toys in crates, each vegetable or piece of fruit is around 50p-£1. I also bought £2 spinning tops and wooden cars. I always used to hate department stores. But I have been converted over the years…read more If truth be told I would give this store a 4.5 stars if I could but in this case I have rounded up. Since I have been back in the Uk for my visit I have been 4 times to this store. The first time I was just browsing for baby clothes and toys, second and forth time it was to use the baby change facility and third time was for a makeover at the Benefit counter. On the second visit I went to the baby changing facility as the store I had planned to visit had suffered a flood in their room. Of course the toilets, baby change facility and childrens clothes and toys are all on the top floor, this has to be the main thing which would tip them to a 4.5 star review instead of 5 given that the lift/elevator is quite slow and there is no way you can get up that far with the use of stairs! The baby changing facilities are great, smelly bin/trash can aside of course (but that is a given wherever there are changing facilities). In this one there is a toilet and sink so you can go relieve yourself at the same time and if you have toddlers/small children there are mini ones for them too in there! There is a great selection of baby and childrens clothes available here, ladies clothing, mens clothing, accessories, homeware and of course a café! Debenhams are quite possibly the best of department stores in regards to their selection and availability within towns. Not many towns are without a Debenhams and that is one of the reasons why when we got married almost 5 years ago we had a wedding list with them. In addition to the registry availability you will find there is a personal shopper service available. I can spend hours in this store, or would if my little lady would let me! She is a shopper in training!

The toy department of the store is up a flight of stairs, I found the stairs and the escalator but couldn't see the elevator/lift and there was no staff member available to ask at that time so I ended up leaving without looking! I shall go back and see if I can find the elevator/lift and then edit the review. I love the selection, still like the layout (from a browsing on my own point of view) but being unable to find a lift/elevator or find a free member of staff left me a little bemused this time!
