Ohh Townhall, how I love and hate you at the same time. I've been for drinks a few times, and most recently went for brunch which was the first time I'd gotten food. The biggest downside to Townhall is that it just flat out gets too crowded. If you're expecting to come here on a weekend night or a game day, be warned that you should get here early if you want a seat. Both times I went for drinks, we ended up having to stand shoulder to shoulder at the bar trying not to bump the person next to us -- needless to say we did not stay very long. However, most recently for brunch we had a much more enjoyable experience. The brunch menu consists of what I would consider more new-age, boujee entrees with several vegan and organic selections. That said, many of the things sounded pretty good, with lots of adjectives describing the various ingredients in each dish. I ended up going with the Southern Benedict and it was delicious -- the hollandaise was very savory. One thing I think they could improve on is the software used to pay. The servers carry around a handheld device to ring up credit cards. When we asked for our check, we were only shown the screen with the total amount -- we were not given a breakdown of the items we ordered. Sometimes, things are not rung up accordingly and I always like to check the bill to make sure it matches what was ordered. I'm assuming this is what happened to us because our total for avocado toast ($5), southern benedict ($11), nitrogen cold brew ($5), plus an espresso martini, screwdriver and michelob aluminum bottle came out to around $75. So unless the martini and screwdriver were around $20 a piece, I'm guessing something was rung up incorrectly. However, I was kind of caught off guard and did not think to ask in the moment -- oh well, lesson learned. Lastly, shoutout to over server Abby who did a great job! read more

The restaurant is really cute and looks new. It's decorated really pretty so it's great for photos. We sat in the outdoor area since it was nice outside but I could see inside it was really spacious and they even had like board games for patrons to play with and a seating area that were like bleachers kind of, that weren't regular tables, so that's cool. It seems like a good hangout spot. It was filled with young adults. Everything on the menu sounded great but I opted for the food truck tacos with chicken. You can choose one side but I upgraded for the spicy garlic broccoli. The tacos were pretty good, nothing speical, but the broccoli was where the magic was it! It was so flavorful I loved it! I would come back and try a different meal if I was ever in the area again. I tried a sour beer, I can't remember the name of it but it was like red, and it was delicious. Now the last time I got it, they gave me the same ingredients except it was over rice which I was extremely bummed about. I then asked for a side of the noodles since it's supposed to come with it and the waitress came out with plain, not even the correct, type of noodles. I had to then ask for soy sauce to help season it. The first time I had the dish it was great! We've also tried the tacos, fries, and nachos which was overall pretty good. I could go to this place every single day & be happy about it. I haven't had anything that's bad from this place. Their veggie burger is amazing. They have this blueberry catsup on it ... oh my goodness. Not too sweet. Just perfect. They also have a really good Thai peanut bowl - I get tofu in mine. Again, YUM. Their fries are delicious, both regular & sweet potato. & they have a good hummus dip. One of my favorite things about this place though, the atmosphere. You can either eat in or outside. I personally choose outside because it's right in the Short North. Even if you choose to eat inside, they have so many windows open to see outside. I've been trying to review TownHall for quite some time, because I was so impressed with the service, friendly atmosphere, and quality of food. I've been back there at least three times since I first visited about a month ago. My favorite is brunching on Sunday. But for some reason yelp had the review, photograph posting, and check in functions disabled for a while - quite frustrating because I really wanted to give them a good review. It's usually very crowded on Sundays and the white can be up to 45 minutes to an hour sometimes, but it is well well worth the wait. There's a check in system which consists of the restaurant sending you a text message when your table is ready - so you're not stuck sitting at the entrance, you can go browse in a local shop. Or, you could grab a drink at the bar and wait - i've done both. The other great notable thing, is, at least on the patio, TownHall is dog friendly! There is a breakfast menu, and then an afternoon lunch dinner menu, with a sort of inter-meso menu in between. I've eaten off all three and was pleased with every single meal. One particular meal I sampled was the Grass-fed New Zealand Cheeseburger. with a low-carb Keto bun.with a side of Truffle Fries & Fresh Fruit. Wowwwww! I've also tried the chicken sandwich and was quite impressive. I do keep going back to the fresh fruit and the truffle fries they have become favorites. on warm sunny days, the patio is a real favorite with nice bright yellow umbrellas, and friendly patrons who frequently talk to each other amongst all the tables. Two Christmases in a row, TownHall has sent me out the door with some of the best food and service I've seen in a long time. My first visit last year was with my cousins, so we chose to sit at the bar for a more casual setting. The bartenders were both attentive, kind, and offered great suggestions for our entrees. They even went as far to ask about dietary restrictions and offered a dairy-free alternative for my grilled cheese, which turned out to be melt-in-your-mouth goodness. This week, I returned with the wider family to meet our friends for a pre-flight dinner. At first, I was concerned by the need to put a credit card down on a reservation - but the step-up in quality and experience is certainly a good reason why. Their menu has expanded, their popularity has seemingly multiplied, and their service has skyrocketed to the highest levels. Half of our table jumped at the Thursday night Burger Special, and everyone's patties were cooked to individual perfection from medium rare to well done. I enjoyed hopping between drafts on their beer menu throughout the night and really appreciated the warm, energizing environment the team created for us. The food and drinks were really good considering this is not a high end restaurant. The salad was probably one of my favorite salads I've had and they had several options for protein. The waitress who served us was super nice and helpful when it came to picking my dish. She was very attentive and never forgot to bring us what we asked for. The ambiance was nice and vibey. First time visit last Sunday for brunch. I appreciate the variety of options/enhancements for preferences (vegan/vegetarian) and dietary restrictions. I ordered the skillet but was able to get it modified for dairy free :) overall flavor was good but it seemed like maybe it sat under a lamp or broiler too long as the "cheese" had almost a burnt to the skillet texture. Truffle fries were only ok and I left plenty behind as they were a little too crispy for my preference and not really giving truffle flavor. Overall the the place is a little overwhelming. I want to give this a five star, I really do. But there's some many little problems that brings Townhall down to mid. I've not had a chance to have their brunch, so this review applies to all meals other than brunch. Let's start with the positive: The food is pretty dang good: especially the tomato bisque. There's a relatively fast turnaround from order to plate. Ingredients taste fresh, and it appears they pride themselves on providing healthy, wholesome dishes. I don't see anything that would indicate it's a gimmick: they do seem genuinely stick to that ethos. The food feels light and refreshing without ever being too heavy. The bad: The flow of customers is terrible. Dining in? Eating out? Want a menu? Do you want to sit at a table in the cafe section or the dining section? Be prepared to figure all of that out yourself. Three entrances and all of them plop you in the middle of the chaos. With some signs, however, they can alleviate this problem in an instant. The soda machine likes to spit at you, especially the nozzle on the black cherry, so give it a respectable distance. Townhall is close to greatness. It's just not there yet. read more

Wandering around Columbus looking for a place to grab a bite and my party came across townhall. The server was a cheerful, bright, young lady who was very attentive and professional despite only have been working there for a week. The truffle fries were crispy, salty and finger licking good. The deviled eggs were beautiful to look at and even better to eat. The Buffalo cauliflower lettuce wraps not only delicious but a piece of art. They've only been open a few months but I see them def. thriving!!!! Order- (Drink): Green Goddess--Dragonwell Oyo Vodka, Arugla, Cucumber, Jalapeno, Lemon, Pernod, Mint (Entree): Souther Chicken Sandwich w/ truffle fries--nashville keto chicken, aioli slaw, tomatoe, pickle, red onion, mayo, house bun. Pros: So I walked in for my reservation (I'm riding solo today) and I already had a table waiting for me!!! I ordered the Green Goddess as suggested by the waitress. Its pretty good if you want something light and refreshing to drink. And its not spicey even with the jalapeno. The cucumber melos the drink out!!! Yummers!! When I ordered my entree, I was immediately asked if I had any dietary restrictions. This was so cool to hear! Upon asking if that was standard practice, the waitress said yes. It automatically dings the kitchen and pings their scanner if the food contains an allergy brought up by the customer so that they can make adjustments if need be( pretty damn cool if you ask me)!! The chicken sandwich was really really good! The chicken was moist (ha ha ha) and the toppings complimented the sandwich very well! The vibe is DOPE!!!!!! It's like a club/restaurant/In door out door vibe!!! The music is def a vibe as well! I love my 90s RnB & Hip hop music (they play a wide variety of music btw). Its a place for any and everybody!!! If you want a cool place to kick it with friends THIS place is legit! Oooo and its healthy too (ha ha ha)! Cons: Saw a dude walk in with two dogs not on a leash, which I was shocked by. Me personally, I am not a big fan of dogs being around or in close proximity to my food due to pet hair and dander flying around. But this is a personal preference. My concern was if something happened this could be a liability! From talking to the manager they're neighborhood dogs. But for those, like me who dont know, this could be a cause of concern. Side Note: Just to be clear, I wouldn't call this a con, but dogs are welcomed inside while eating is going on! If you are not a dog lover this could be a deal breaker if visiting this establishment. But the place is a realllllllly cool kick it spot! Also, there's 3 menu (breakfast/brunch, lunch, then dinner (at 5pm)). So make sure you are coming at the right time. We ended up here yesterday because I decided to wear sandals and ended up switching to somewhere indoor at the last minute due to the weather but I'm so glad we did! From the pet friendly environment, to the fun treehouse seating, we were instantly charmed. And this was prior to trying any of the food or drinks. We had the avocado toast, honey lattes, and a shot of turmeric. It was all delicious. They have a pretty large selection for food and drinks. We even spied a few birthday celebrations with huge firework candles that looked pretty amazing. They even have various board games! The bar was full and even had a DJ working placing fun jams and there was a pretty good sized crowd for a Sunday afternoon. Having said that it seemed like the social distance standards were still managed well and we were able to keep to ourselves. The decor is fabulous and I left extremely impressed. I enjoyed my meal at TownHall and first time and atmosphere is eclectic for with unique wood tables around the restaurant. Server Mia was great and took great care of my friend and I. My friend had the Keto Chicken Fingers with Sweet Potato Fries and I had the Korean BBQ Flatbread that both delicious and yummy. It is one of the few places that you can take your dog or animal in the restaurant. I never had Keto until now and it was delicious. I will be going back to TownHall again soon trying more things.
