This review is for the Florida DMV section of the North County Government Service Center…read more Needing to get a new driver license since moving to FL, this location was conveniently located near the jobsite. Looking online for needed documents also alerts you that you need to make an appointment which is a fairly simple process. I made my appointment and headed over at the appropriate date / time. The DMV office is located inside the County center, along with a variety of other county functions, like the courthouse and real estate tax collectors etc. There is a big sign over the Check-in window on the side of the building where you need to go first to get checked in and get your number. The number is important because that is what they are going to call to get you to the correct service type window. Because it is inside a courthouse location, you will have to enter through the metal detectors and all that goes along with that- all metal items in the bucket, that kind of thing. The signage inside is a bit wanting to be fair, but the super-helpful deputies around the metal detectors pointed out the way. I found the DMV waiting room and grabbed a seat. The process is automated, and you hang out until they call your letter/number combination and tell you what window to report to. Total wait time from appointment to being called was 25 minutes. The DMV clerk was very nice, and we got the proper documentation squared away and processed in good order - then the computer decided to act-up, so we had to do the process again. Second time the supervisor joined us, and the computer was still acting up, and the supervisor took over and we moved the entire thing to another clerk. We got everything working and license issued. They were also very helpful with getting me set-up to get the license plates that I will also need, but first I need to get some preliminary documentation, from my previous State. They had the forms put together for me and we'll see how that part of the process goes once the old State does what they have to do. Total time in the DMV was 1.5 hours which in the big scheme of things, is not horrible, and would have been about half of that, had their computer systems been working better. Knowledgeable workers (and that supervisor was truly on top of things). Overall, I thought it was a very good experience and hopefully the vehicle registration goes as well. I think nine of them plus conference rooms that you can request or reserve. They have a very large children section, a separate teen area, and I love that they always have out recommendations of books or movies, and it usually follows a theme. The parking lot is well maintained too, but I wish there were more lights at night.

After passing through the bathroom/book check-in entryway area and through the security panels, an inviting middle walkway lined with dvds invites one to browse. Modern comfortable seating - living-room style - provides an inviting space to chill and peruse one's findings. There is a 'local authors' section next to the security panels when you walk in, a nice touch. There is a room just for teenagers and young adult fiction; I would have loved this room if it had existed when I was a teenager! It includes tables and computers. Awesome for teens to have a 'safe' space away from adults and small children. The children's area is quite spacious, with a large entryway and open corridors between sections. The area is placed far from the regular library-goers so that children might squeal without disturbing too many patrons. It also features: lots of lights entering from windows, whimsical wooden bookcases and chairs, and a family bathroom (complete with child-size toilet and sink). The leather seating is pretty worn out, but otherwise the space is well-kept. The parking lot features a ton of parking spaces and a drive-through book drop-off.

It can feel overwhelming walking in, but the self-service kiosks are an absolute lifesaver. I use them every time, and they make a huge difference. Thanks to the self-service, what could take an hour at the counter is done in five minutes. The kiosks let you print labels, buy postage, and drop off packages quickly, which is a huge relief when it's hectic. The area where the kiosks are located get pretty crowded too, especially during peak hours, but the self-service option makes it more manageable. I can get in and out without losing my mind. If you're someone who hates waiting forever in line, definitely take advantage of the kiosks (they're a total game-changer). Overall, this USPS can be a little chaotic, but with patience and the self-service machines, it's a reliable, responsibly priced and convenient option for shipping, mailing, and printing. In between, it earned the nickname of the "Please Go Around Bridge" due to construction delays and frequent closures. It's better now. It is a bascule bridge manufactured with prestressed concrete in a stringer/girder design. The main span has a length of 142 feet (43 meters) and a width of 50 feet (15 meters). There is 20 feet of clearance from the deck to the Intracoastal Waterway below. The bridge opens often during season and can definitely be a cause of traffic backup when that happens. PGA is a very busy road! The next bridge south is the Parker Bridge over US-1 at Safe Harbor and the next north is at Donald Ross Road. Even tho I arrived 10 mins before they closed she was able to make it happen for me (heaven sent). My sister will be so surprised when she receives her package today or tomorrow & sees all the wonderful stuff I sent her. :)))) Happy Birthday sis!
