We met Chris for our initial meeting back in July. He discussed his services, showed us his portfolio, and gave us info on why he does his services the way he does. Having been through the wedding photography process himself, he wants to make it easy for a couple, and not force them to make decisions about packages, albums, etc... up front. This is just what we needed. We decided to do an engagement session in September. Chris met us at the Sculpture Park in Downtown Seattle and we had so much fun. It was great to get to work with him before the wedding so we knew what to expect when the big day came. As our wedding date approached, Chris reached out to us to discuss specific photo locations at our venue, the timeline, and provided many valuable suggestions. He had already checked out our venue, so he had great insight on the lighting and the best places to take photos. When the wedding day finally came, Chris & team were on time and professional. They instantly made you feel comfortable and at ease, and began taking our getting ready photos. We were planning on outdoor rain photos with umbrellas but we totally lucked out and the rain stopped and we had dry outdoor photos. Chris & team were there to take photos throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour & reception. We received our wedding photos very quickly (we'd heard stories of having to wait months) - and they were wonderful! We loved being able to choose which ones were our favorites instead of having a photographer do that (some photographers do that... crazy right?!?!) We were instantly able to start downloading & sharing pictures -- just in time to make some Christmas gifts. Thank you Chris for your awesome work - I'm already telling everyone who needs a photographer about you!

The week of the wedding, he offered to bring an assistant (the joys of an off-season wedding!). The assistant took great photos of the details of the wedding (shoes, dress, etc), while Chris got the posed and action shots. He gives you rights to his digital negatives, you get them on CDs, and he can put together a flexible package. His winter rates were fantastic.

My non-profit worked with him to produce a short campaign video (about four minutes long). On a non-profit budget, we had to get very creative and are extremely thankful Klem could still work with us. For example, my staff and I did all the filming. Though the filming process, Klem gave a lot of guidance and training on how to get the best possible video and audio. Once filmed, I gave Klem a storyboard and all the footage. He pieced everything together and gave candid feedback on how to improve the storyboard we drafted. He also provided valuable coaching for the voice-over, which greatly improved the emotion communicated in the video. From start to finish - on a pretty short timeline - it was a great collaborative process. Klem is now my go-to for any future video programs.
