Prices here are not bad. The store sells basically souvenirs. Great prices on hoodies and t-shirts. Lots of selections to choose from. The store is quite big and it looks like it takes up two store fronts. They have a combo t-shirt and cap for $20. One of the busier stores in Sitka when the cruise ship arrives. read more

I made a yelp account specifically to say how much I appreciate The Totem for keeping a very specific wood carved statue from a shop that was on Lincoln street previously- I am not joking when I say I called almost every shop on Lincoln trying to remember who had the carving of a BBC comedy show character that I loved so much. I was heartbroken when I had heard the news that the store had shut down, thinking I would not be able to gaze upon the glory of that beloved piece of art again. Well... On the night of my birthday, I was taking an evening stroll and to my absolute astonishment, I saw a familiar sight in the window- it was "Old Greg"!! Obviously, this discovery made it the best birthday ever. Love Sitka, love The Totem. read more

In addition to nice souvenir options, this shop has a great selection of quilting fabric by the yard or fat quarters.

We loved our trip to Sitka but unfortunately the last thing we did, since I was craving fudge, was to visit the Totem Store. The owners (?) - dad was mad that wife (?) had left the building and was hollering at the daughter (?) to call that person and tell them to get to the bank. It took him minutes to acknowledge that I was at the counter and then the entire time he was getting my fudge order and ringing me up, he was yelling at the other person. He was even miffed he had to input the amount into his special credit card machine so I could pay. I really wished I had walked out because every time I ate a piece of the fudge, I had to relive how rude the people were. And after a special, enjoyable trip to Sitka. August 13, 2024 read more
