IMHO My hubby was in search of Blue Label Johnnie Walker and since it was priced lower than Costco, and there was some inventory at this particular Total Wine, we headed there! Total Wine was all dressed up for Christmas and very bright and festive. We couldn't find the Johnnie Walker on our own and had to ask someone to guide us to their selection. Unfortunately, we didn't see any Blue Label. A young sales employee had never seen Blue Label but ran off in search of it. Maybe 10 minutes later, he came back empty-handed. We thanked him for looking and were about to head to another store location. Hubby decided to ask (maybe) the store manager (?) She went back to the stockroom and came back with the Blue Label! (It seems to have been under lock-and-key.) Regardless, we left the store very satisfied! All in all, friendly and helpful customer service.

Free wine tasting before 6 PM! Hee sweet!

I've been to this particular, total wine and more a handful of times and apparently I never wrote a review! Lol this particular day it was a warm Saturday afternoon and I wanted to get a wine or something refreshing for Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised as I walked in to find that they had wine tasting until 6 PM! It was 530! I was there at the perfect time! On both sides of the counter, they had six different wines, everything from white, rosé, Merlot, and A champagne to try! What a great selection and a great way to up their sales! I spoke to a lovely older gentleman, I forgot his name, but he had glasses and he was very helpful and he told me he really enjoyed this pinot and I really liked the rosé so I ended up buying both! Great way to up the

7/8/24 Cool

Quality/Quantity - Consistent with the brand. See pictures of all the departments. Some nice upscale drinks, see pictures. Wine & beer tastings. Only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I believe this used to be 7 days a week...? Or am I outdating myself? Classes, events, etc. Atmosphere - Open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm. Plenty of mall parking. Easy in, not so easy out, unless you are in the "know." This is my old stomping grounds, so easy in and out for me. :) Clean bathrooms in the rear of the building. Service - Must be delivery day today, Monday 7/8/24...? Only one person of the entire army of workers/stockers greeted and offered help. Or was he management...? Good thing I am a self-service person. Also available - Delivery, curbside or store pick up, shipping, etc. Price - Slightly above average, but that is the cost for having such a good selection. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1991 with 267+ locations. We are loyal customers, well mainly at your Reno, NV locations.

Seasonal beer, thriller pack from Angry Orchard

Blake went above and beyond in this store! I was looking for an item that's been super hard to come across due to its limited production! Blake knew exactly what I was looking for and guided me to it! I was in extreme disbelief that he was so quick to know where it was! He was extremely friendly and guided me to all the bottles and collabs I was looking for! Also, Javier found a bottle for me of wine that was a limited edition Ouija bottle when I was at check out! They both went above and beyond to find me horror collab bottles and including a pack of angry orchard which I purchased separately! Due to their outstanding service I was incline on buying two bottles and the Jason voorhees angry orchard pack! They also directed me to another store that had an item in stock since their location didn't carry it! They both truly took customer service to the next level!!

Great variety of wine from all over the world, beer (including my favorite Belgium one), whiskey, vermouth, etc. I was looking for vermouth but then found out that there was a tasting class about to start. I managed to buy the ticket for $20 and got to the class just on time. That was such a great experience that I'd recommend to everyone to try. The shop works till 10pm which is awesome, you have time to walk around and choose what you like. The location is great: there are many parking lots nearby, grocery shop, Marshall's.

Lychee "caviar"/ boba
Fiona T.

This place has a massive selection of all things alcohol related. I always find something new I've never seen before when I come here. This time, I saw alcoholic lychee "caviar" or boba. Didn't try it this time, but maybe next time.

It was very good working with Cassie who was generous with her support in ensuring my wife had a great party. As disclaimer we know Cassie from our 6 year old's baseball teams the past couple years. My wife preferred Hapa's Los Gatos location at first but were advised that their Lincoln Ave location would be better suited for her party of around 100 guests including children. We had a private event space next to their brewing vats and rented tables, high tops, and linens through Hapa's. This location does not have a kitchen and instead have taco trucks and such who park outside. For our purposes we had an outside caterer serve our guests and Hapa's were very accommodating to them. This location has a couple barriers between it and Lincoln Ave. and is connected to other small businesses via hallways so it is safe for children to move about freely. Hapa's provided corn holes for kids to play within our space and we had crafts on tables to do. Next door is a pinball machine playing shop so between all these, kids were enjoying themselves and adults largely free to socialize. Hapa's doesn't require you to buy their beer but we opted for wristbands and open bar tab. If you do bring your own alcohol there is corkage as normal though, so we just kept with their beer which our guests enjoyed. Their bartender Alyssa was great to work with, ensuring we had everything we needed while serving their public customers. We were conveniently next to their bar while being set aside from public space. There is filtered water to spout from but it's on the other side of the bar, so a walk to/fro for filling up our water dispensers. Our caterer provided agua frescas, no extra fee from brewery on that. They were able to bring their equipment in the space and set up nicely to serve made-to-order tacos and quesadillas with side tables of self-serve rice, beans, mixed veggies, and guacamole. We had dessert tables perpendicular to them. We were at first concerned the space wouldn't work as it looks warehouse-y but when outfitted with tables/linens, catering, and our own decorations, it turned out to be a great space where people could sit or stand and be free to move around. I was surprised at how many customers Hapa's had as it's in a kinda random location but it was packed both inside and in the back. This casual festive brewery environment worked well for noisy children in our private space and their free and safe movement about the building was priceless. Everyone expressed what a great space it was and my wife really enjoyed herself being able to see so many circles of her life in one space. Thank you Cassie, Alyssa (sorry if misspell), and Hapa's!

I walked in and stood waiting to be seated while an employee, who appeared to be the owner or manager, continued talking with her kids instead of acknowledging customers. I don't mind waiting, but a simple "We'll be right with you" would have made all the difference. I decided to give them another chance. On a later visit, I spent a few hours working there and ordered drinks. When a friend joined me, he sat down and was completely ignored. No one came over to greet him or ask if he'd like anything. We eventually had to flag someone down just so he could place an order. After that, our server mentioned that Tuesdays were buy one, get one free on wine. I ordered my second glass, but it never arrived. When I asked another server about it, I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. The irony is that I would have happily paid full price--I wasn't the one asking for a deal. They were the ones who brought up the promotion, then acted bothered when I politely asked about the wine that was never delivered. The final straw was our most recent visit. We were seated at a table by the staff, only to be told a few minutes later that we had to move because the tables were supposedly reserved for the party sitting behind us. We moved without making an issue of it, but no one ever ended up using those tables for the entire time we were there. It was frustrating to be relocated after being seated, especially when the explanation didn't match what actually happened. At this point, it's hard to view these experiences as isolated incidents. The common theme has been inattentive service and an attitude that makes customers feel like they're an inconvenience rather than guests. There are too many great wine bars that genuinely appreciate their customers for me to spend any more time or money here.

It's still a bit too dim for board gaming, but we will take what we can get. This negative is what I'm constantly hearing from everyone when I'm hosting games. I don't need it looking like a laboratory, but if every bulb was upgraded by 200lumens, it would solve the issue. I understand they want the space looking ambient. But hey, cater to your demographic. The LED strips that were put in a few months ago was a step in the right direction. 2. The new TitanTron thing. It's fabulous looking. And really showcases what's meant to be highlighted during events. 3. New additions to the food menu. This was sorely needed. Many of us were constantly leaving to go elsewhere to grab sustenance. I think many OGs still aren't aware of it, but it's slowly catching on. We tend to have blinders on if there aren't pictures. Maybe try just a poster or two somewhere to boost your sales? 4. The Game Corner Being able to borrow games is fantastic and has really grown the space and hobby as a whole. I see plenty of people diving into the hobby for the first time and it's wonderful to see. Instead of walking in and only dilly dallying for 30min, many are now staying for an hour or two. 5. Utilizing the entire space. For years, I saw the extra rooms sit empty and was mind blown. As a former manager in hospitality, that blew me away. That's basically pissing money down the drain. You're paying the lease on the space. Why wouldn't you put it all to use? Hire an events manager if you need to--part time even. Trust me, it pays off. I'm now seeing the extra rooms consistently used/booked. Anything that attracts bodies to the space is a good thing. Often, energy is what makes an establishment successful. And energy will beget energy. I'll come back when I have more time to list what I still don't like:
