Pros - easy to install with extensive support in step-by-step detail - simple, yet amazing detailed interface outputting more data then any Android app I've used before. - powered by the car (no batteries needed) - detected the codes fine - reset the codes easily Cons - the cord was shorter than I'd have like but worked fine. Can get extension cord on eBay for $2. In the end, I searched the codes online and came up with a sensor name and location. Sure enough, the problem was simple; a broken wire at the connection and I was able to repair it on my own in less than ten minutes for no cost other than this unit. Had I bought the various apps, etc I had originally planned on, I'd have spent WAY more than I needed to to fix the problem. If you need a good inexpensive diagnosis and reset tool, this is it. Heads up about my Total Car Diagnostics experience with their TOAD obd scanner: I have been having problems with my car and my brothers car as well. We always wanted a decent code reader that goes a little beyond then just read codes. I was so excited when I found TOAD! Despite a few bad reviews, I decided to take a chance. I am happy to say that for the price, it does everything I need it to do and I have experienced no problems with it at all. In a nutshell, I totally recommend it after keeping me safe on the road from experience! I used the software/scanner on my Ford Explorer car to determine the error codes for the check engine light and was able to turn the check engine light off once I knew what was wrong. It showed 1st spark plug was misfiring. Overall, I would highly recommend owning Total OBD & ECU Auto Diagnostics software to anyone after maintaining long life of the car, reducing repair fees, and just generally knowing what's wrong with the vehicle for peace of mind. :) read more

I buy used cars at auctions as a hobby. Sometimes the fix is major when the Check Engine Light is illuminated. Other times its an easy fix. The auction site won't allow me to use OBD Toad scanner there. But if car engine "sounds" ok, I'll take my chance by taking a test drive by myself. I'll pull out Totalcardiagnostics TOAD to see if vehicle is ok to take home, or leave it at auction site. This was I can also tell the next bidder what's "possibly" wrong with the car.
