Fantastic experience in TORRID at the Tempe location I had a bunch of items on hold and was running late and they kept the store open for a few minutes so I could complete the transaction and take the items with me that I needed for my travels. Autumn Jane, Liz and Emily have been great sources of excellent customer service and really wanting to make sure that I had the right fit & sizes, a personalized shopping experience and general joy in taking care of me! I've been here a couple of times. It's well organized and the staff is great. I'm always greeted, told about sales, and helped with suggestions. They're a sweet group of ladies who genuinely want to help their customers. The location has a good variety and quantity of clothing and accessories. I love to check out the clearance section. I was pleasantly surprised when I called last Friday, the call was answered quickly and the employee was friendly and helpful! I haven't been here in years and coming out for the first time in a long time to do Somthing for me and return a Skirt I bought online. When I arrived I noticed the hours on the window said open at 11 and online and google said 10! I'm beyond irritated. Just for wasting my time I will never shop here again. And it's HOT out! I called to confirm and Kelly said sorry we open at 11 bye. Smh Update when they opened at 11 the front desk girl was so nice and helpful and let me use the restroom for sitting outside for an hour. I saw the billboard for this company driving home from Tucson and was intrigued. Imagine my surprise when I find it's HERE. Oh happy days. I like the styles and selection. Guess I'll have to try some things on, but not so bad if I can find some hip (I'm using that word cuz that's how I see it) clothes that fit and an rent big flowery or striped or plain solid color old lady clothes. There's a sale going on currently so may have to come back and check that out. Last piece I found to be of some interest. They're owned by the same company as Hot Topic. Figures cuz I like that store too. Guess I'll be back to Tempe Market Place again soon. read more

Everyone was super nice! The sizes were a bit strange to me being a large girl with 4 being too big for me. Anyway, the changing rooms were nice with a downward facing mirror(I'm short so this is excellent for me.) THEY ALSO HAD A FAN IN THERE! For months and months I was a regular at this location. The employees knew me by name, and almost had my telephone number memorized. I had an interaction with one of the managers before the Haute cash was released and she said, "see you next week!" When I told her I'd have to wait for a while to come back since I was between jobs, she gave me the biggest stink eye I've ever seen. Such attitude! Well, when Haute cash time rolled around, I came back in to spend my Haute cash and to say hi to these ladies who'd been friendly to me in the past to find that they flat out IGNORED ME! Yes, ignored me. So from now on, I'll prefer to shop at a different Torrid location (or just buy everything online). TLDR; the women who work here are fake. read more

I love that there is a torrid close by! Most of the time were greeted and are helped, but last week when my husband and I came in to make a return since my order online came incorrectly - we both felt uncomfortable walking in and being stared at. One of the staff members, whom I'm assuming is the manager, stared at us for a good 30 seconds before rudely asking what we needed. She was putting clothing on hangers, which I'm assuming was shipment, and was actually cut off by another employee who was smiling and asked us how she could help. We explained what had happened and she looked at me in disbelief, as if I was lying about getting the wrong items. Reluctantly she completed my returns with my invoices, but didn't make us feel like we could walk around and look. I would most likely return, but would put in headphones and not rely on much help to find things. I do hope others have better experiences! read more

The clothing items are of good quality, but think twice before shopping at this location. They left the security tag on one of the dresses I purchased; the type of security device that leaves ink stains on the material. The following day, I had to go all the way back to the store to have it removed. When I asked for little gift for my inconvenience, they apathetically told me we have nothing for you. read more

Love this location! As someone who does not like huge crowds and enjoys the ability to avoid mall crowds I appreciate their location. It's a quick jaunt from the parking lot. I am always greeted with warm smiles and good vibes! They are very accommodating and always start me with a dressing room right away. My mom and I come to this location often as a part of our mom daughter time. I LOVE that their dressing rooms are air conditioned AND have a fan blowing on you. Seriously it's the little things and it makes trying on clothes so much more pleasant not feeling like a pig sweating in the middle of July trying on clothes. The staff is always willing to help and check on you while you are in the fitting room to see if you need another size. I always feel like a valued customer. Great job, girls! read more

Favorite plus size store! So some of the clothes are clearly meant for a teen audience and some are cheaply made and will fall apart in the machine or shrink in the dryer. But if you buy knowing this, and act accordingly, you can leave with trendy clothes that actually fit and are not intended for nerdy moms in Iowa. So here is my advice: 1- wash all thin/delicate tops in the bath regardless of the handling instructions 2-buy a bigger size pants if the ones you try on are snug when you sit down 3- don't dry any clothes from here on high heat-- use low or air dry If you follow these instructions you will love your Torrid wardrobe. And don't forget if you are 24+ they have larger options online. read more

Staff is usually friendly and helpful. Pricing is a bit steep. $27 for a tank top? Dresses are 60 to 100 and the deals, in my opinion, arent that great so when the Haute Cash comes out, it's really helpful if you had your eye on something. I went in today and had the 1 shirt I wanted. Some lady returned 1300.00 worth of merchandise. 1300!! Heres where the problem was...the cashier was in absolutely no hurry. Casually pulling out items and scanning them. The other cashier was talking this womans ear off and forgot to ring her earrings up so she had to do another transaction because she wasnt paying attention. THEN...there was a lady looking at earrings, clearly not in line like the other 5 of us were and the cashier called her up next...she says something to her daughter in Spanish and the girl comes up from the back of the line! The cashier proceeds to check them out! I literally threw the shirt on a nearby rack and left. I tried to buy the shirt online and I entered my haute cash code and it said that it had already been entered and was applied and it wasnt. I went thru the whole payment thing and reviewed my order and it charged full price for the shirt. I gave up. I'm not even close to wanting to go here again. read more

I've been to this Torrid twice now, once on 2/14/16 and tonight. I will not be returning to this store. On 2/14, the store was sorely understaffed. There was one girl working the floor and dressing rooms who told us she was new. She was overwhelmed because there was about 7 women wanting to use a dressing room and she was supposed to be helping them while keeping the entire floor tidy. There were two other girls by the register who weren't helping her out but would yell at her to fix stuff or help someone. When I was finally getting rung up, the girl running the register snapped at us a bit before she gave us the bag. We tried to leave but the security alarm went off because she didn't take off the security device on both pairs of pants. She yanked the bag out of my hand when I handed it to her. After this I tried to rationalize it by saying they must have had a hard day, everybody does. I came back tonight after I signed up for the Torrid credit card because I forgot to print out my paper copy, my bad. I come into the store and explained my situation. I read on the website that if I came into the store with photo ID they could write out the card number so I could have it. The girl I spoke to was Briana. She said she couldn't write down the card number. She then started speaking to me like I was slow saying she could take the items from my online shopping cart. I asked her if I could still use my coupon codes, she then snapped asking which ones. I told her the MAR50SPC1 was the one I had online. She rolled her eyes and said she didn't know what that was for so I explained it took $50 off the total and she then said she could use it. I was honest with her and said I'll wait because I didn't feel comfortable shopping there because of her attitude. She goes off saying she didn't have one; I told Briana it was her tone and inflection that was the problem. I asked if she was the manager and she claimed she was. I asked for the corporate reference email and she wrote it down but it's not working now. I'm attaching the picture of the card and also the website's policy that says yes she should've written down the card # for me. I won't shop here again. The one at Metro Center is the best in the valley and I know for sure there won't be a problem there. read more

I love Torrid! I really do enjoy shopping at this store in particular. I never have a problem of them greeting me. The girls always ask me if I need help looking for anything, which is very rare when I need help because I know what I like. I shop there often enough that the girls know who I am, they know I like to have my space, and I rarely need a fitting room so they don't ask every time I'm looking at something. The prices are high but I don't mind because the clothes are cute and more stylish than Lane Bryant. The store is clean and easy to shop around. When I am here, I always have to buy something before I go. As long as they keep up the good customer service and customize their service to fit my needs, then I will continue to shop here. read more

I'm OBSESSED with Torrid. Not only do they actually carry plus size clothes but it's all so cute! When I walked into their I felt like I was in plus size heaven. I was looking at the jeans for a few and then Briana came to help me. She was so sweet, she helped me find the perfect jeans for me and even helped me find a dress! She actually took the time to help me out, because I didn't even know what I was looking for and how the sizes worked. I'm going back this week to pick some more stuff up. I've shopped here about three times because it is the closest one to my house but I have NEVER had a good experience. I'm rarely greeted, they never bother trying to help me find something and when I tried explaining I needed to exchange a shirt and return a dress because I was about to go to a funeral I was given the worst attitude, the lady looked so annoyed and actually mad at me. I work retail too and know that returns suck but the way she handled it was incredibly unprofessional. I also had my baby with me and she was getting fussy and she instead gave me store credit despite asking for a return. I'd rather drive twenty miles to the San tan torrid and feel welcomed. In fact, I was so hurt by the terrible service that I felt the need to call San tan and tell them how much I appreciate them because the Tempe marketplace location was so terrible. I will never be buying from Tempe again. I suggest no one else does either. read more

I have been a Torrid lover for years now. I am constantly looking online to see what's new. My friend told me that the Tempe location was awesome. They had a large selection and the store was huge in comparison to the other locations. So I decided to go there with her even though its not close to me. I am a huge fan of great customer service and Bree provided nothing less. I picked out a few things to try on and while my friend and I were showing each other our outfits Bree walked by and just started chatting with us like a friend. She then started bringing us things to try on. Items she thought we would like. It was like hanging out with a girlfriend. I ended up buying two of the dresses that she suggested. She should be the leading example for great customer service for all the Torrid employees. The store in general is really nice, its big and the racks are spaced out nicely. You can walk through and not trip over things or feel over whelmed. read more
