I've been to a few Tapas restaurants in Sydney and most of them are horrendously overpriced. You know the ones, where you order a dozens little dishes, have six mouthfuls, pay $100, and silently hope you're not the only one keen for a Macca's run on the way home.
Thankfully, Toro's is not like this.
Compared to other restaurants I've visited lately, the service at Toro's is exceptional. Wait staff are attentive and very helpful if (like me) you have no idea what to order.
The sangria is delicious, and the food is good too, but not outstanding (and a lot of the dishes aren't even Spanish).
The garlic Turkish bread is great, and goes well with anything, but the meatballs were tasteless and dry. Luckily, the $12 Champinones Al Ajillo (garlic sizzled mushrooms) made up for this.
While some of the dishes may not be authentic, they are reasonably priced, and filling. It's not the type of place I can see myself eating at regularly, but it was fun, and tasty. read more
