There was no food choices other than what you bring. They sell frozen pizza and a few basic other things for purchase while the office is open. They give you a small amount of Wi-Fi free. Otherwise you can purchase 10 GB for $5 which I did. Shared kitchen and bathrooms. Friendly roosters that you will meet quickly if you're eating any food outside... Gorgeous sunrise over the ocean. I recommend staying here priced affordably for any budget.

They offer hostel-style dormitories, small private units, and glamping options. We opted for the clamping tent and loved it. The tent was outfitted with a comfy bed, furniture, and everything you'd need: a fan, dehumidifier, heat, phone charger outlets, etc. The shared shower and bathroom area was a few steps away which was convenient. They have some food and drink for sale in the check-in office, as well as a food truck that often serves veg/health-focused fare. They also have kitchens, lounge areas, and games onsite. It's right at the start of the National Park, so there couldn't be a better spot to stay for a few days of exploring the park!

The location was perfectly situated relative to the Abel Tasman trekking trail and to catch a boat ride in the Bay or grabbing a bite at a local restaurant. Robert is also a dynamite chef and prepared the best egg breakfast with all the fixings. Also loved the accomodations including the cute jar of milk in the fridge for coffee. A wonderful touch.

The main thing is that if you are…read moregoing to spend your days in Abel Tasman park, you are probably better off booking smth different, such as another waterfront accommodation in town right at the beach or a lodge/Airbnb . We spent all our days in the park, so the little extra we paid for this resort didn't really make sense. Pros - nice spacious rooms, we had so called spa room with a jet tubs, overlooking ***partially**** the lagoon in Kaiteriteri. - beautiful grounds with plants and short walks - great housekeeping - staff can assist you with booking activities in the park Cons - the lagoon views are tide dependent and not really water front - the facilities, such as spas, pools etc close early at 8 pm, so if you are in the park all day, you won't get a chance to use them. 10 pm would make more sense - though it's a short 20 min walk to the beach and activities, it is still not right on the beach unlike another accommodation in town, that has water views. Personally I would not call it exactly close to the beach. - you probably don't need the staff assistance with booking your AT activities as it's very straightforward - even though the rooms are nice, I didn't feel much difference from a couple of motels we stayed in NZ. Not sure I would call the place a resort.

The house alone is just beautiful and was restored immaculately with the perfect blend of antique and modern! Being on a hill, the drive up is a bit nerve-wracking and parking is tight, but the views from the balcony and dining area are worth it! You can also walk up directly from the street via a beautiful wooded stairway. The room I had was comfy and the communal kitchen, dining, and lounge areas were great. The other guests were all respectful of people's items in the kitchen, which I thoroughly appreciated. It was nice, too, because the mother and son who own the house and run the dental surgery downstairs (where you check-in when you arrive) live on site, so they were interactive w/all the other guests. My first evening there felt very familial with everyone making their dinners and chatting, it was nice. For me, however, the highlight was the bathroom. Even though it is shared, I never had any issues with access and it was so luxurious! They had a glass-doored shower w/a bathing wand, but the piece de resistance was the Victorian high-back tub. I don't know how long it has been since I have had a bubble bath and a glass of wine, but I loved this place so much I stayed a 2nd night just to make that dream a reality and it was divine! The price for the room was very reasonable, especially considering the location and the house itself, so if you are in Nelson, this is the place to stay! I even found a great little takeaway spot a 5-min walk from the house and the entrance to Centre of NZ monument is literally 50m away!

Some of the places we had booked for the trip ended up not working out as well as we expected. We booked Zatori not quite knowing what to expect and we were totally stoked. Tracey has the place running like clockwork, and all of the staff was delightful. There is free, unlimited, and very good wifi included, along with all the other things you'd expect at a nice hotel. But they really knock it out of the park with the homemade bread, delicious food, and beautiful setting. Nothing's better than watching the sunset on the deck, enjoying a glass of wine, and playing the ukulele that they had in the lobby. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
