We ordered a couple of their boil buckets, while not cheap, it was super simple and a no brainer if you're looking for a seafood dinner down the shore! We followed their instructions and here's the pros and cons... Sausage, potatoes and Scallops - cooked to perfection. Some shrimp were undercooked ... operator error - but otherwise they were perfect size and easy to peel and devour. The corn was worthless ... basically cattle corn that ended up being over cooked and inedible. The clams were on the bottom and all fell out if the shells while cooking. There was no where near enough seasoning to provide any flavor to what we had .... need to add more for sure. The cocktail sauce was bland ... I wish there had been an option for the "medium" variety. Though the garlic butter was on point! The unexpected highlight was the fantastic, moist and flavorful corn bread! We will repeat with the lessons we've learned ... but maybe they will make some adjustments for future customers? read more

Great! Had my kids over and the larger Pot was too much but good. We had clams, scallops, shrimp (a lot of shrimp) and crab. Seasoning is not too spicy. The only con was The Andouille. If you are going to serve it buy from a reputable Louisiana vendor. It was bad. read more

Decided to try this place just for something different and we absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh and delicious. Crab clusters were large and full of meat the shrimp were decent size and tasty. The brown paper makes for easy clean up too. I do wish it came with the tools at least a couple of shellers. Yes they do sell them for fairly inexpensive but for almost 90 dollars a bucket it would be nice if they included at least 2. This was such an awesome shore find! It was a little confusing initially (I thought it was takeout) but basically they give you a big bucket of fresh seafood and vegetables and you put it on the stove for 45 minutes and have a DIY clam bake. They even provide the brown paper! It seemed like all the other restaurants down the shore that do a similar thing were either expensive or not that great (or both) so this was an awesome find. Genius idea right in the middle of a pandemic - big bucket of chunky veggies and fresh seafood to pop right on the stove no mess no fuss. This meal has been a hit with groups all summer long at our beach condo. I stick a roll of paper towels on the table drizzle a little vinaigrette over some lettuce grab one of Topsails corn bread loaves (they get them from Beachin bakery on Asbury - my favorite bakery but that's another review) and that's dinner. Especially useful after I spent a day getting my hair done next-door at the Hair Studio and I need to show my family I still love them LOL read more

The steam pot concept is excellent. The food was fresh and when we cooked it was delicious. Rose was very friendly and gave us the step by step for the process. We did the wrightsville bay bucket with classic seasoning. I would recommend asking for an extra butter. They give you one for the whole pot with crabs and shrimp. We ended up using another half stick of our own. Which isn't as issue but it would be nice to have had it. The paper they give you covers the table easily but I would recommend some newspaper under it. Can't wait to order from here again! read more

We are very happy with our Topsail Steamer experience! We ordered the Captain Pierce in the classic seasoning and added lobster to it. We also ordered corn bread and key lime pie on the side. Everything was delicious but across the board everyone in our party thought the king crab legs were the best. It took about 45 minutes to cook everything snd the instructions were simple and easy to read. Definitely a bit pricy around $250 but worth it for the yummy food and overall experience! read more

Fantastic, all around! The girl on the phone who took my order was super friendly & helpful. The portions are exactly as stated, we ordered a Lowtide bucket and it fed 3 of us just right. It was a great choice for us during Covid as we are still uncomfortable dining out yet. The corn on the cob was so yummy! We got the Classic seasoning & it was delicious. Honestly, we can't say enough about what a treat this was, and super easy to steam at our beach house. The food was plentiful. The instructions are also plentiful but inaccurate. If you add the recommended amount of liquid and place on high heat for the recommended amount of time you'll have a scorched batch of vegetables and sausage at the bottom of your pot. Fortunately I smelled it starting to scorch and was able to make the required adjustments. I was willing to let that pass then I got the email with the total charges including a generous tip that we applied and the "convenience" fee. Really? We rode our bikes past this new business and were intrigued. They have just opened so we tried the Low Country Shrimp Bay bucket with additional kielbasa and scallops and the herb seasoning. We LOVED our steamer bucket! We had crab, shrimp, clams, and kielbasa with the Jimmy's seasoning (cajun mixed with an old bay type seasoning) which is SO good if you like a little spice. Clearly the owners are tapped into the yelp reviews because unlike previous reviews we had plenty of butter. I highly recommend putting a ramekin of the juice left in the pot off to the side to dip your crab and shrimp into. I can't believe it but my husband (a human garbage disposal) and I couldn't finish the giant portion they gave us (allotted for 2-3 people) so the servings are plentiful. They give you a nice roll of paper to eat everything on so clean up is a breeze and if you're from out of town you don't have to go searching for newspapers to lay out. The order doesn't come with claw crackers but you can purchase hammers with the meal very inexpensively. We have already placed another order for a few days from now! read more

What a fantastic idea. I've been to many clam bakes but this prepares everything for you - raw, in a pot that you can keep, and you get to cook it and enjoy it in your own home. I went with the build your own bucket and chose clams, crab, shrimp, kielbasa and of course lobster tails. The pot comes with corn cobs and potatoes. Put 1 cup of water and 1 cup of beer in the pot and boiled it for 45 minutes when I got home. Added the lobster and shrimp for an additional 10 minutes and everything was cooked perfectly. Got the classic seasoning and it was Great. Also had the corn bread, plain and jalapeno. This place is going to do great in Ocean City. In fact, it will do good anywhere. You have to try this. You can purchase a tool separately but Joe's Crab Shack provides them (and even prints a note on them proclaiming they were stolen from Joes Crab Shack lol). 2) I agree with the other review-we needed more butter. This place is AMAZING. A home cooked meal without the need to go to the grocery store or do any prep. The food was so good and was Gluten Free, which is a huge plus with my allergy as there are not a ton of options in OC, NJ that you can trust. We made your own bucket with corn, potatoes, 1/2lb scallops, 1lb sausage and Jim's way seasoning. It had just the right amount of kick to the spice.
