They have a huge selection of pumpkins and their prices are better than some other farms. The hayride is free and it takes you around the farm. One of our favorite things is seeing the farm animals. They have 2 pigs, several sheep, a cow, several chickens, and a llama. The sheep are really cute. We've never tried the corn maze, but it looks fun! The staff at this farm are so friendly and welcoming! They are wonderful and that's one of the reasons why we come back every year! This farm is great because there's no unnecessary fees, and no large crowds. It feels very down to earth, friendly, and local. This is a great farm and I highly recommend visiting the farm when they're open in October! 5 stars

I inquired about yellow watermelon during one of my pickups and was quoted $30.00.(Ridiculous Watermelon) Unfortunately, the few steaks received were un chewable, even after marinading for hours. Never received lamb. Sausage and bacon heavily spiced, Chicken meh...Hard to plan with no weights on packaging. Hopefully, with more experience they'll get better.

LOCATION: The house and garden are located on 25 acres in rural Washington, Connecticut. EXPERIENCE: George Schoellkopf purchased Hollister House and began transforming its landscape in 1979. The garden, which is open to the public, reflects his unique vision -- a relaxed English Garden. The garden is a great to see, but also to generate ideas for your own garden. Linda Levin, the Visitor Experience Manager, helped me identify some perennials that caught my attention during my most recent visit. A variety of workshops are offered at Hollister House Garden. Recently I participated in a mushroom growing workshop, and left with an oak log that will bloom in the spring. TIPS: Local residents are eligible got a discounted membership rate. With membership comes benefits, such as free admission at gardens across the country. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons with a $10 admission fee. The lavender smell is phenomenal- and you can enjoy it throughout the farm. They have all kinds of lavender products for you to buy from honey, to live plants, and dried bundles. They also have other farm fresh veggies. This has become my new source for eggs. They are only $6 a carton and taste so much better than store bought. If you enjoy livestock, they have chickens and goats that you are able to watch eat upon request. This is beautiful addition to Waterbury and I highly recommend to anyone.
