Was in a search for a professional place to cut my hair. This one had a few reviews and I decided…read moreto give it a shot. The first time I came was in Sunday and they were closed - so beware! The second time was a weekday and I was able to get an appointment right away. They have two floors and pretty stylish interior. The staff speaks English and is very caring. They offer free tea/ espresso-based coffee/ mulled wine (mmm... delicious! ) By the way, they only take cash, so be ready! This place is located in the old town and near all the expensive shops like Louboutin and Fendi. So read in between lines: the prices are higher then average. For women's haircut by the hairstylist of a 3rd level (they have range from 1 to 4 levels with 4 being the most expensive and experienced one) it was $50 (not cheap for Czech Republic). The hairdresser Barbara was very friendly and listened carefully about my needs. She even found an iPhone charger for me since my phone battery was low and set it up to charge next to where I was siting. Then she washed my hair and started cutting it. She continued asking me clarifying questions while she was performing the haircut to make sure that it meet my expectations. After she was done she spend good amount of time drying my hair, so they started looking amazing! I had great experience here and would definitely return if I'm going to be in Prague again. Five star place!

It is hard to give 5 stars from my one (and probably only) Czech hair cut! After a week on a…read moreDanube River cruise I needed to get the hair out of my face and the concierge at the hotel recommended this place. The location is just off of Paris Street where the high-end shops are located (Prada, Jimmy Choo, etc.)and I was relieved to see locals in there getting various beauty treatments, It is comfy. As soon as I walked in I offered a beverage and relaxed for a few minutes to soft modern music. The hair wash alone was worth 1200 Koruna (about 48US). I wish I could have that experience every wash. I was in the chair for about 15 minutes. The bowl is such that my head could totally relax and the chair was very fab with massaging elements. the scalp massage actually had me dozing before she was done. My designer was lovely in and out. Her English was very good, but much Russian was spoken among the staff. She listened to my request and did a very good job. It is not my best cut ever, but I am pleased with it. BTW the sign out front is in English and reads "Fancy Hair Salon". If I am fortunate enough to return to Prague I will make a point to come needing a trim.My 90 minutes inside refreshed me for more Praha discovery.

I admit there was a language barrier with the hair stylist, but they seemed to totally understand what I was saying, and I OVER explained to make sure. At many points, both stylists got involved, to a point that seemed to annoy them, but knowing what I do now, I should have listened to my discomfort and LEFT. A large man, I believe, with many scribbled tattoos, did my hair, who did not know how to operate the computer system of the establishment, and throughout my entire hair cut was asking an older madame (who was quite rude) advice and questions on how to color hair. They seemed to argue at many points, and after he washed my bleach off, she seemed upset and astonished. It was then, I looked down, and realized my hair was orange. This is a further problem because I had explained to the stylist that I did not want it orange-y in any way. Imagine half a head of hair, now orange! I asked repeatedly if they knew any purple shampoos to get rid of the orange, but was exasperated when they announced they had not a card reader, and only took cash.. I suggested I leave them with the 1,500 czk I had on my person, and leave, seeing it only fair for the hair color(s) I received. I asked the elderly woman if she thought my hair looked like the photo I walked my unassuming self in with, and she looked me dead in the eye and said yes. Sobbing as I walked out the door.

Avoid, if you're a tourist. Walked in to make an appt for a basic blowout and was quoted 350 czk…read more(witnessed by 2-3 staff members and my spouse). Arrived 2 days later for the appt, handed over 400 czk (included a 50k tip), and was informed that I actually owed them 650! When I objected, citing the earlier quote, they (the discussion now included the manager) presented their previously absent 'New Price List'. I was deeply disappointed at this blatant attempt to rip off a tourist- thought it was only the notorious taxi drivers who did that. Eventually they (grudgingly) relented and took my 400 k. Really regret not asking for the change back, but I was kind of stunned at the shakedown and just wanted to get outta there.

Went in and ordered a "classic" hair cut. According to their prices, this is 150Kc. After getting a…read moresatisfactory cut, she asked if I wanted my hair washed. I asked if she could rinse it out. Instead, she shampooed (twice) , "styled" my hair (which I declined when she asked if I wanted it), and then blew dry my hair while preening it with a brush. All this nonsense for a classic crew cut that I told her I didn't want styled, etc. What should have been a 150kc haircut, she charged me 270kc for. This is typical of barbers in Prague, unfortunately. Rather than getting a permanent, repeat customer, they'll rip you off for an extra couple of bucks. If you go here, decline *everything*. If they start doing anything you didn't specifically ask for, tell them to stop, otherwise they'll charge you extra. Spoke in Czech the whole time.
