I stayed at the hotel where the restaurant is located and decided to order dessert to take back to…read moremy room. When I went downstairs to finalize my order, I was surprised that my desserts were placed on real plates, and my hot cocoa was served in a regular coffee mug, all arranged on a large tray--despite the order being clearly for takeaway. I immediately told the staff that I could not safely carry a large tray, hot drink, and desserts while also reaching for my room key and operating the elevator. One staff member helped me part of the way, but once I reached my floor, the tray was simply too big and my room door too heavy to manage alone. As a result, I ended up spilling hot chocolate over my desserts while trying to enter my room. I've honestly never experienced a restaurant--especially inside a hotel--that doesn't offer proper takeaway boxes or a coffee cup with a lid for room orders. This could have been easily avoided with basic takeaway packaging. Very disappointing experience for something that should be standard in a hotel setting.
