I have two pairs of shoes that I have come to appreciate over time. I was looking for someone to repair them , and I remember I saw this place . I stopped there today , as soon as entered it took me back in time to a place where there used to be little shoe repair services like this . The owner was very nice , as soon as I entered I was greeted. They only take cash and you have to leave a deposit . The show repair man also makes sandals, he received a call while I was there and he was taking about it with a client of his about making sandals for this person . I thought that was cool. They don't personal checks either . So come prepare with cash . He will give you a ticket that you will use to pick up your shoes when they are ready . I walked into a humble shoe shop with my beat ass old dr Martin 10 eye steel toe boots. Let me just say this, I neglected the hell out of them. They were scraped up, they hadn't been shined since I got them. I had torn one of the eyelets across about an inch and a half and I was looking to get a repair. I called Tony's to make sure they were open. He said come down I fix for you right away. One hour tops! I was pretty sleepy but I took a ride. now those of you not familiar with broad st in central falls would know that parking kinda sucks and the roads are wicked narrow. But that's besides the point I pulled up across the street and made my way in. The door opened to a hallway with shared businesses. On the right was a neat little rug and sign exclaiming "OPEN" right across from a packed barbershop. Anyway I went in. It was a humble shoe shop with what you would expect on the walls, well shoes! Anyhow Tony (or the owner maybe?) greeted me and after looking at my beat ass boots he assured me he could fix and fast. He then sold me on a shine. I said hell let's make em look good if that's even possible. Well I left and got a call about 55 mins later the boots were complete!! I raced down there and laid my eyes on the shiny-est shine job I have ever seen. And the tear was PERFECTLY fixed. They actually looked better and stronger. He assured me. "They no rip no more" I would say I am very happy with the service and would recommend any real working guys to bring your boots here and get em' fixed up. I have been coming to Tony's Shoe Repair for years now. I have found his service to be professional and prices reasonable. I drive down from Mass. because I can not find such a shoe repair place in my area, that still performs shoe repair services of such high quality. Tony is always friendly and I can practice my Spanish while waiting. Through our discussions I found out that he goes to local schools where he donates his time and money to teach students how to make belts, a skill that could help these students earn some extra spending cash. This craftsman also makes pocketbooks, shoes and even saddles , that are on display. I always look forward to taking the trip down Rt. 95 to visit my friend and practice my Spanish whenever I have shoe repair need. read more
