I have had these builders on a couple of projects since April 2019. Work should have been completed…read moreby end of August but they over ran to November. Unfortunately they left the site without completing the agreed work, therefore terminating the contract. This left me in the position of holding back the balance to engage a new team to complete the work. I Have tried to resolve issue with builder but to date no resolution and am now appointing a new team to complete. In the main their general building work is very good and often to a very high spec, when attention to detail is paid to. The standard of work can be variable depending on which team attends the site. They are very good at providing solutions and working organically. Builders are not gas safety registered or qualified electricians. There have been issues in these areas. They are not up to date with their building regulations. There have also been issues with communication and prices for jobs have not always been clear. There was no paperwork or receipts provided and cash payments were often wanted. Towards the last 3 months of the job, builders became very unreliable, often late or just not turning up. Also the electrician contracted through the Witek Constriction as to date not completed the electric safety check at both properties. This is a big disappointment as they came highly recommended and the issues could have been easily resolved on the part of Witek Construction. Had they been mutually resolved to the satisfaction of both sides I would have continued with them as there still lots of work to do across a number of sites.

The decision to undertake a loft conversion in your home is a big one and one that can be very stressful and for this reason I hope my review will help others. For many years I had often past the Econoloft office in West Wickham and had obviously noted their existence should ever I be lucky enough to be seeking such a project for my home (my view of their having an accessible shop front and office locally was very reassuring!). Eventually when the time came they were an obvious choice to investigate but not without sensibly doing some considerable research and comparisons with other companies in our area. My assumptions that Econoloft would most probably be out of our price range were swiftly and surprisingly quashed! Not only were we given a competitive price it was one that others could not easily match! From the very first point of contact right up to the very last on completion and beyond I honestly cannot fault the service we received. Every detail is carefully explained and any queries/questions along the way are quickly answered. Econoloft have a dedicated team at their head office in Wigan, the very lovely Caroline and Wendy to name just two, who are always happy to help and make the whole experience as trouble free as is possible (no nasty answering machines or waiting for a call back!). The team of tradesmen that were assigned to us were amazing. Davin and Dan our first fix joiners, who were with us the whole way through, Terry on plumbing and heating, Wes the electrician, Rocky and Harry masters in the art of plastering, Mike flat roofing specialist and finally Lukasz and his accomplice on final fix joinery, each and every one was quite literally a pleasure to have around. A jolly bunch with plenty of entertaining banter thrown in for good measure! Always polite, considerate and respectful of us and our home. To them personally we would love for them to know how very grateful we are to all of them for all their amazing skill, care and hard work....a massive thank you to you all! With such an array of different trades required we would have maybe expected the odd clash of personality but not one didn't meet and exceed our expectations...what a smashing bunch! The finished article we can only describe as stunning, a complete transformation of a dusty old loft area and best of all the planned layout is such that it flows beautifully, following on from the existing second floor as though it has always been there! The loft conversion has truly transformed our home and we are beyond pleased with the result (not to mention the added value which well exceeds the outlay!). We were ensured that they will start, as soon as drawings will be ready. Nothing happened after one month. Nothing happened after drawings were ready. They ignored our e-mails and phone calls. Finally, after all messages we sent, phone calls and two visits in their office, 3 (!) months later they informed us that works at our property will probably start after additional 3 months (!!!) making total waiting time - 6 months or longer. As it was clear violation of 'The Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982' we terminated the contract and requested to return our 2000£ deposit. They refused to pay it back and said they never agree to 1 month! Our experience as customers with Econoloft West Wickham was first time EVER. We have never been treated like this: mis-information, immense delay, insulting ignorance, complete breach of trust, lose of faith. And all these after we told them since the beginning that time is crucial for our project! They just lied to us and later pretended that we imagined the story. Shame, shame and shame on them. Don't get in touch with them. Otherwise you may experience something you would never wish to yourself.

I am currently a couple of weeks in to the build process with Abbey Lofts for our existing loft…read moreconversion removal and then extension incl new Ensuite, and during this time I have gotten to know the team pretty well. Rob is managing the build from the office, he always returns calls if he misses one, Fred (who writes the responses on here) is the the technical guy and knows his business well, and has come up with good ideas to improve the space and keep the build ticking along. The lads on site daily, have been courteous and clean, the scaffolding, shute and skip mean the garden is always tidy. The only thing holding up our build is the Oct wind and rain, mean we cannot remove the temporary roof. So far I have no concerns with the rip out (which I knew was going to be a nightmare due to the 90 years of abuse the house / plumbing and electrics have sustained over those years, the schedule of work is good and the staff are easy to talk to. The director has not called once to hassle me about anything and Im not sure I'll here from him at all. There is a 6 stage payment schedule of which we are at stage2, so no one should have ever paid all the money up front, as mentioned in one of the other reviews. Thus I can't agree with any of the 1 start ratings. Ill write another review once the work is complete.

Only laid foundations and built the external walls. Meanwhile, director Irshad Alli Ramzan kept on asking for more and more money despite having received our deposit. Abandoned project in November 2019 after we got suspicious and requested to see the report from the Building Control inspector. Turns out he NEVER booked an inspection and told his workers to build without inspection from Building Control. Mr. Ramzan confessed he had spent our money for his own purposes and there was no money left to continue work on our project. He also said he expected to receive funds from another project and when that happens he will pay us back. Bottom line - Irshad Ramzan ripped us off and we will probably never get our money back. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
