We did not hire Alto. They were doing a job for a neighbour on our cross street. The night before the work, they placed their own person "no parking" signs on our street, and did not have city permits to do so. The morning they started the work, they completely obstructed our driveway. When my partner asked them to move, as he needed to exit the driveway, the worker brushed him off and simply said his boss would give him money. My partner refused, and explained he needed to leave. The worker then said he had to call his boss to get approval to move the truck. My partner replied saying that he would simply call the city in that case. The worker's attitude changed quickly, they moved the truck and promptly removed all their "no parking" signs from the sidewalks. After my partner left, they put a large metal tray of supplies in our driveway without permission, and blocking the sidewalk. read more

This company failed to comply with the required flashing done to prevent leaks. They repaired and changed the shingles of our roof, but that's all. I don't know if they were in haste or just want to get the repair done fast or worst, just too lazy to check. This has resulted in severe damage to our ceiling. And when I call them back to ask if they will cover the cost of the repair, (because it really was caused of their negligence!) they simply said no, hanged the phone. And here I am, writing this review - hoping that I can avenge my misfortune by sharing this experience. read more

This company lacks vital things as their technicians are not too skilled for their job description and the delivery service fails. The job result is somewhat disturbing as it looks like the technicians are not too sure on what they do. Also, the service fee is very high while its service output is slightly unsatisfying read more

Last month we had an emergency water infiltration issue. We were in a panic and had zero contacts…read morefor a roofer. We came across this company and asked them to come for an inspection and a quote. Within an hour, Dominic Brodeur, the owner, shows up with one of his guys. They inspect our roof, immediately know the issue and quote us on the spot. They completely removed the old rotten area of our roof and meticulously corrected the issues and made it look seamless. We couldn't believe that he completed all this work, had it buttoned up and secured within 2 hours that same day. His responsiveness in our time of need exemplifies his professionalism. When we had another area where we needed advice, we immediately called him. Within a day, they also took care of our other issue. I now have Dominic on speed dial just in case. His company is professional, high quality, efficient and really great to deal with. The owner is approachable and very charismatic. There were no high pressure sales techniques used. When he could have taken advantage of us, he didn't. He simply told us what was needed to be done, when he could do it and it was a reasonable price. We gained more than a professional roofer, we gained a friend and someone who cares and acts with integrity. Hard to come by these days. I can't sing his praises enough. So glad he was able to come by that first time. Toiture S2 is the real deal. Thank you Dominic and your singing crew!

One day, an owner from pentian construction came over and agreed to regulate any issues. While we were in the basement, I pointed to another issue and the contractor said it would be repaired. Shortly after, within the month, the contractor fixed all issues. I was really surprised by the amount of dedication the owner had to fix all my issues. They work well.

Hired them years ago because they came in cheaper (roughly half the price) than all the other…read morecompanies. During construction, they raised their prices and ended up charging me the equivalent of the other bids. I refused to pay the final invoice when they tried to gouge me. They sued me, I hired a lawyer, and they eventually dropped the lawsuit and settled without me owing them another dollar. The amateurs did not ask me to sign an NDA, which is why I can share this. Stay away from this company. They are horrible and work with the worst subcontractors. At some point, everything they did fell apart: leaks from the bathroom ceiling, peeling paint (they forgot the primer), and electrical and plumbing work that was an absolute mess.

2.5 stars We added…read morea 600 sqr ft two storey addition to the back of our house. Ground floor was a den with polished cement floor, fireplace & wood ceilings. Upstairs was our master suite with washroom and closet. Designed by Carta Architecte who were amazing to work with https://cartaarchitecte.com/ We entrusted this design to Newsam to build. 1) Took 4x time to complete compared to quoted time. Quoted 3 months for a job that started June 2020. It took til mid-January 2021 for majority of work to get completed & full job was not completed til mid-July 2021. 2) Cost was 25% over quoted budget. 3) Quality of a work was a solid B+ or 7.5/10. Many small details only addressed after us following up several times. In conclusion, we've worked with other companies for smaller jobs but due to size of our reno we had gone for a larger company - Newsam, and we regretted it. Though at the end the job was done to design it was an emotionally painful, long drawn out & overpriced experience.
