I hate using any toilets that are not in my own house, so to me - when I'm out and about there is nothing like clean toilets. At the moment I think the toilets in St David's 2 are very hard to beat for cleanliness - in fact, wait for it - I'm going to put my money where my mouth is (I'm not afraid to spend a penny in public) and shout out loudly I BELIEVE THE TOILETS IN ST DAVIDS 2 SHOPPING MALL TO BE THE CLEANEST IN CARDIFF. Not only that but the baby changing facilities are the cleanest too. So if you're out and about and a desperate to use the toilet head over to St David's 2 and it will nearly be a pleasant experience. read more

I am not a fan of public toilets and usually try and hold on until I get home but sometimes needs must. I was out shopping recently and my bladder was seconds away from bursting so I bit the bullet and ran to the nearest toilets. These happened to be on the ground floor of the St David's 2 centre. I went in there expecting them to be dirty and smelly but I was peasently surprised to see that these toilets were clean.... VERY clean in fact. One thing that shocked me was the fact each cubical actually had loo roll in!! This is unheard of in Cardiff. Usually you either have to take your own or commit the cardinal sin of dripping dry.. YUK! I cant say I will ever be a regular public toilet user but at least now I know where to go if I cant cross my legs any longer. read more

As far as toilets go, you can't go far wrong with the ones in St. David's 2. It seems they put a lot of effort into making sure they remain clean at all times. If you find it hard to get away with going to the toilet in a café or restaurant without feeling bad for having waltzed in and purchased nothing then head over to St. David's 2. You don't have to pay for them which can irritatingly sometimes be the case with public toilets. They're located next to all the restaurants in the upper food court part of the new shopping complex. And perhaps best of all, they have those Dyson airblade hand drying things which seem to have taken it upon themselves to declare the drying of hands a task of the utmost importance that requires some kind of space-age technology. The toilets in St David's Dewi Sant are second to no other public loos in Cardiff. They don't cost anything to use and are checked regularly so you can be almost certain that you are not going to find some horrific mess that some unruly character may have left behind. As Andrew has said, they are fitted with the Dyson Airblade hand dryers. I'm not quite as enthusiastic as Andrew about them but we have the same ones installed where I work so I guess this is the norm for me now. Basically, Mr. Dyson has invented a dryer that churns out a specified "blade" of air so when you put your hands in, all you need to do is draw them back out slowly and the blade of air will do its thing. I always giggle when I use these as the air gets caught in one of my rings and whistles. Combine that with trying to make parts of your hand skin flap and you could have loads of fun in the toilets in St. David's Dewi Sant. read more
