In February 2026 I was on vacation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was a Sunday evening, and my iPhone 14 Pro hit the ground hard and the screen cracked. It was a problem I'd never experienced, at home or on the road. At first, I thought it would be a major crisis, taking time and money that I'd rather have spent on enjoying my travels. But, I have Apple Care One, and apparenly it works everywhere. So, instead of spending the rest of my vacation traveling around with a broken phone, I downloaded the Support app, searched, and booked an appointment for 10 AM on Monday morning at the MacStation, around 15 blocks from the Four Seasons (a nice walk that time of day). This branch of MacStation is also about 2 blocks from the El Ateneo bookstore (the famous one that is a converted theater), so you know what you can do if you need to wait for your phone to be repaired. TBH, I was expecting they would tell me that they couldn't help me, or that it would take days, or that they'd charge me an insane amount, or that I'd back out because the place looked like I couldn't trust them with the personal data on my phone. But MacStation is a legit, Apple Authorized Service Center. Their staff was helpful (if a bit too fast for my intermediate Spanish) -- and TBH, a lot more down to earth than the geeks at Apple in the US. They examined my phone, and carefully logged it into the Apple support system. They even found that, even though I did the required backup before bringing my phone in for service, my WhatsApp files (and all those shared photos!) were not backed up, and did the backup for me on their WiFI. Within 2 hours, they replaced my screen (and my battery!) with authentic parts -- FOR FREE! My experience at MacStation (and the shiny new screen and brand new battery) is an unexpected, but welcome, souvenir of my trip to Argentina. I would recommend MacStation without hesistation.
