Cash Store - Cash store is king

    Cash Store

    (3 reviews)

The Cash Store on 9001 Spencer Highway in La Porte TX used to be very well run. However since an…read moreemployee named "Miriam" has been hired there as "store manager' things have changed for the worse. Said employee is the living embodiment of passive aggressive rudeness. However, what happened today went beyond rudeness. I was told I could not pay my loan with a debit card because the debit card "did not have my name on it". There is nothing in the loan agreement I signed stating this was a requirement. When asked for an explanation she gave a muddled explanation about someone "being able to steal it" (?!?). As near as I can determine she either was implying that 1) my debit card was stolen or 2) the fact that the card didn't have my name on it would make it susceptible to online fraud. If the former is true I'm extremely insulted. If the latter is true then "Miriam" has little understanding of how identity theft actually works; which in some ways is scarier than her rudeness. If this is how this company thinks internet security works (submitting bank information is a requirement for obtaining a loan), then that is reason enough alone not to do business there. If having a name on your debit card is all that would be required to stop such action then there would be no identity theft. I suspect this is "Miriam's" attempt to throw her weight around as I have complained about her rudeness to Cash Store's corporate office before with absolutely no action being taken. The fact that a loan company would turn down money from a customer who has always paid on time - if not early - is baffling. As a result, I had to go to atm machine and withdraw the required amount for an additional fee. Unfortunately I am stuck with this company until I pay off the rest of this loan. Once I pay the loan off I am through with Cash Store. I would very strongly recommend not going to Cash Store unless you want to be given the run around by petty employees.
