My Haferl Cappuccino (cappuccino in a mug) and Topfenstrudel (sweet cheese strudel) with vanilla sauce brought me right back to my childhood and teen years, when my mom would whip up these delectable treats. Others in our group ordered various soups, tarts and Apfelstrudel with buttermilk (Sauere Milch) - everything was eaten and slurped up down to the very last morsel and drop. Do not walk by this establishment if you're in the Ehrwalder Almbahn area.

Arriving as the town was shutting down for the night we happened upon a friendly hotel in Lermoos. We didn't even realize we'd crossed the boarder into Austria until the staff told us. We chatted with the proprietor and his sidekick, old friends that were in a band together in the 60's called The Playboys, who run the establishment and perform there now and then as, "The Old Playboys". All the restaurants in town had closed but our hosts were kind enough to prepare an after hours potato and dumpling goulash and beer before we turned in.
