I recently picked up a nail in one of my worn-down Bridgestone tires (235/50 R20) on my EV, so I started calling around for quotes. Most shops were quoting me between $1,300-$1,600 for replacement tires and that wasn't even for EV-specific ones. When I bought my EV in 2023, it came with Bridgestone tires that meet EV standards, but I later found out they aren't actually EV-specific. Even though they advertise a 50k mileage warranty, my tires only made it to about 40k, and apparently that warranty doesn't really apply the same way for EVs since they tend to wear tires faster. After learning that, I decided it didn't make sense to spend 2-3x more on big-name or EV-specific tires. I ended up going to Tire Stop this morning and got a full set for just $580 (cash) out the door. The tires are from Cosmo Tires, not a big brand I was familiar with, but they come with a 70k mileage warranty and seem to have solid ratings on their website. The experience at Tire Stop was excellent. There was no pressure, no upselling, and the staff was friendly and straightforward. They got me in and out in under 30 minutes, which was impressive. It's a smaller shop and they don't do alignments, but they'll refer you to a nearby place if needed. While you wait, there is seating available; however, it's an open garage, so the area isn't climate-controlled. There's a convenience store next door and a shopping center across the street if you'd prefer a more comfortable place to wait. If your tires come with a manufacturer warranty, I recommend registering it online during your wait. It only takes a few minutes, and you'll typically need a copy of your receipt. After driving on the new tires today, I was honestly impressed! One thing I was concerned about with non-EV tires was road noise, since EVs are so quiet, but these tires are surprisingly smooth and quiet. If not better than, the original tires that came with the vehicle. Overall, I'm really happy with both the price and the service. If you're just looking for good, affordable tires without the hassle, Tire Stop is definitely worth checking out. I'll be coming back for future tire needs. Thank you, Tire Stop!! Whoever answered the phone answered very rude and abruptly asked me for my tire size before I could finish my sentence and then asked me to wait and started talking to someone else in the background. I was on my way to work from Stockton to sacramento when I ran over a heavy item on the freeway which caused a plastic to come lose on the bottom I pull up and ask the kid working there if they can just lift it up so I can take it off an older Indian man with glasses comes up to the kid and rudely snatches the jack from his hands and says we don't do that here and starts being rude to the kid . I looked at many different used tire shops, I chose the Tire Shop because they are very close and they have good reviews. Went in on Monday morning, I was in and out of there in 20 minutes and now I have a reliable tire that only cost me $40. As I was there, another gentleman came in, you could tell he was a regular by their conversation. I've brought my car here twice to change tires. The men here are hardworking, polite, respectful, kind and they are quick! While we waited for them to finished they sat us (me and two kids) gave my kids full size candy bars. They don't overcharge or sell you anything. I had 4 light truck snow tires that needed to be mounted on my 95 Chevy Silverado. Called up TIRE STOP (at 7605 Amherst) and they said "No appointment needed, just bring the vehicle in." (They're open from 730AM to 730 PM) When I arrived (at lunchtime, unfortunately), I found that TIRE STOP shares a building with a mini-market convenience store, so the parking is limited (and on a busy corner of Meadow View). However, not to worry, the guys here motioned me into a spot directly adjacent to their shop and went after my tire job like Santa Ana attacking the Alamo! I was amazed by the speed and efficiency of their crew in taking my tires (I had brought them with me) and mounting them on my vehicle! The charge for all four tires mounted was US$80 (as of 3 Nov 21). The people at this TIRE STOP are good; they know the business, they're fast and they get the job done without wasting your time! I had my truck back and was ready to roll again in quick order! You can trust them to take care of your needs with equal dispatch, also! Be advised, they are a 'cash and carry' business, so bring dollars w/you. If you don't, there is an ATM in the next-door adjacent mini-market, however. I popped my tire on some glass in Meadowview and all my tires were getting pretty low anyway. Went to Tire-Stop the next day at a friend's recommendation. I was in and out in under 30 minutes for about 2/3rds the price of the dealership. They only take cash which may be an issue for some, but good luck getting a better price for great service install on factory new tires with a warranty. Was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. Had a flat tire this morning and took my car in expecting to buy a used tire as a temporary replacement. I arrived at 1pm Sunday and there were 4 cars already there. It's located on a corner with a sign and I had no problems finding the place. Service was very friendly and I really appreciated how honest they were. They told me I didn't need a new tire, and showed me 2 spots they could potentially patch on my tire. Driving down the 5 and must have run over something - noticed the pressure on one of the tires dropping. It was Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend so didn't know what we would find open. I yelped tire repair and this shop came up. I called to confirm they were open and they answered quickly and told me they'd be open til 2:00. It was right off the freeway so pretty convenient. I was a little Leary when we pulled up because it looks pretty fun down but 3 men cane right out to help us. Sure enough, we had something in the tire. I have been using this place for mount & balance services for my daily driver for quite some time now. I have never purchased any tires from them, so I can't comment on the tires that they carry. These guys are normally great if you want quick and affordable service. However, the lips on all four of my wheels were scratched pretty badly during the tire mounting/unmounting process. My dad went in to change 2 of the tires, he never received a receipt and when they were don't they sent him home. That's normal for the most part. What really posed us off is the fact that the tires they "changed" were the tires already on the car. They didn't change absolutely anything. When I went back there with my dad they told us that since we don't have a receipt, which they didn't give us, they couldn't do anything even though they made it clear that they remember my dad. Yet again my tire guy came through! Cash is king and this is the tire kingdom you want to be when you need tires. No one beats their prices on a great selection of tires. The long version, I walked in and handed the owner-operator (at least that is who I think he is) a list of tires I was interested in buying: Michelin Premier A/S, Bridgestone Driveguard, or Continental Trucontact. He did not have the tires I wanted, but offered me Hankook Optimo, Toyo Extensa, Goodyear Weatherhandler, and Cooper CS3. I really wanted some Michelins so I started to shopping around online. I found some Michelins available at my other tire place (see review for Advanced Tire Services) and at a tire store in Napa (I was headed out there anyway). The Napa store had them for $60 cheaper than Advanced Tire Services, so I made an appointment to buy and install them (see review for Joe D'Adamo Tire--and others in Napa). Although I went to Napa, because of various mistakes, I ended up driving back to Sacramento without new tires (detailed in other reviews). I really wanted Michelin tires, but read a lot of positive reviews on the Cooper CS3 tires so, I decided to go back to the Tire Stop and purchase them. I called the Tire Stop in the morning and told them I wanted the Cooper tires and that I would stop in around 3 pm. The owner said, "no problem." I showed up around 2:30 pm and had my new tires installed within 20 minutes. They are FAST! I highly recommend the Tire Stop. If they accepted credit cards I would buy all my tires from them because of the incredible savings. This visit I saved over $100.
