We took engagement photos with Kim Russell Photography. When we got our proofs, she included…read moreseveral sample save-the-dates that we could order through her. She got my fiance's name wrong on all of them (even though she had his name in writing), and when I emailed her to correct it, she did not even apologize for or acknowledge the mistake-- terrible customer service. Our package included a 1-hour photography session, two 8x10 prints, and a web-ready disc of all images that we could use for posting our pictures to our wedding website, facebook, etc. When we received the package, the two 8x10s we selected were very bad quality-- the coloring was off and we both looked like ghosts! We will never display them in our home and even my mom didn't want them! For the "web-ready disc," every single image had Kim Russell's name/logo across the MIDDLE of the photo, which made them look terrible... the name should have been at the top or bottom of the photo if she wanted to advertise. Again, I'm not displaying the images anywhere. All in all, even though we didn't pay all that much for the package, it was a complete waste and I regret purchasing through Kim Russell Photography. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Right off the bat, Madalyn was charming, charismatic, and genuine. Before you book, you meet with her (we did via Zoom) to chat a little about yourselves as a couple and what you are looking for in a wedding photographer. We instantly knew she was the photographer for us. Once we booked her, she sent us examples of wedding timelines and shot lists. A couple weeks before the wedding, we sent ours to her so she could gauge what photos we wanted and the timeline for our day. Before the wedding, she checked in with us to make sure we were on the same page and didn't have any questions. The day of the wedding, Madalyn arrived on time with her second shooter and videographer. Madalyn has a way of making you feel comfortable when she is snapping pictures. No poses felt weird, her directions were clear, and everything felt organic. We are so grateful for her team. Taking pictures was truly one of the best parts of our wedding day. The day after our wedding, Madalyn sent us many sneak peeks. I wasn't expecting it, but it was great to get some of the edited photos from the day to tide us over until we get our full gallery. Our photos thus far are amazing, and I can't wait to update the review when we receive our full gallery and highlight video.

His studio is super cool, located in a historic warehouse, recently renovated in NE MPLS. It has a rustic, yet fashionable feeling, with neat wood floors and a huge metal door that opens up to a old loading dock. Each one of my 7 emails was replied to promptly and professionally. Her studio is beautiful and welcoming. She has snacks and beverages for families waiting as well. Most impressive were Angela's photography skills. She has clearly perfected her craft. She had the studio set to 85 degrees so that our newborn could be molded like jello into the many beautiful poses Angela had visioned. She had mini fans and sound machines strategically positioned around our baby to ensure she stayed sleeping throughout the shoot. I highly recommend Angela if you are looking for newborn pictures.
