All of the staff as early days are qualified and very professional as well as being fun and involving with the children. there can be 37 children in the nursery at one time and they are slip into two groups 2-3 and 3-5. The building is modern and airy and you can book you child's place either full time of part time. The rooms are well divided out with messy room for messy activities (sand,paint,water) etc and quiet room for other activities (jigsaws,reading). There is also an outdoor garden area with a climbing frame and where the tots can play on bikes etc.

Their attendance here really helped to improve their social skills and well prepared them for school education as Gingerbread inspires numerical and literacy skills, creative skills and physical development. Each of them had a nursery profile which updated their development as well as their days achievments from tiddlers to Whales. Usually, both children would tell of their days spent here with delight; they enjoyed the activites provided and were fond of the staff as well as the other children. Only occassionally were negative tales told; Hansel fell from the steps of a slide bruising himself rather badly but the incident was not reported to his parents; another incident involved Gretal being forced, despite her tears, to stand and sing alone in front of her peers as punishment for not singing loudly enough in the group, a humiliation I found wholly unecessary. These incidents were confronted and resolved eventually and the children continued to enjoy the remainder of the time there. Gingerbread has excellent facilities for the children such as a ball pool, outdoor play space, disabled facilities and even a trained chef and the security onsite is quite unrivalled, including forty five CCTV linked cameras, internal webcam accessible to parents as well as an intercom and buzzer system for entrance. Its full of hands on activities, drawing, painting, model making, stories, songs and dress up. Best of all its completely free. My children (aged 4 and 8) regularly choose Big Art as a choice of a day out during half terms and weekends and as a parent it is just lovely to be able to spend a couple of quiet hours simple playing with the kids away from the normal domestic distractions. They also provide a number of fun worksheets designed for the kids for use in the main gallery too.
