Tiny Apple is a great quilt store. Staff is friendly and helpful (Especially Colleen!!) There is a variety of fabrics and styles to choose from. I think they recently expanded their solids/blenders area which is nice (lots of grunge!). My review is mostly for the class I took - the quilted sneakers. Lisa G. was an AMAZING instructor - super nice and helpful and encouraging. The space set up was awesome - plenty of light, nice work spaces with adjustable chairs and tables, easy access to power and design walls. Its smallish (I think limited to 8) but so very nice. I will definitely check out some of the open sew times and other classes. I also love the "rewards" program. I always have a couple of bucks I can throw towards my next purchase. They do carry some interfacing, foam and notions, but with the loss of Joann I'd love to see more (more thread for sure, more zippers and thingamabobs). And more evening hours! read more

I think Tiny Apple Fabric and Crafts in Anoka is the best little quilt store in Minnesota. I walked in to browse recently and had a delightful hour. The clerks, especially Coleen, were all helpful and friendly. I happen to mention that I have some things I needed to sew on a machine and do they rent a machine for a few hours?? YES !!! And very inexpensively. I signed up, went back a few days later, and got help setting my project up. Colleen could not have been a better helper. I was so pleased. Probably the best quilt shop in the Twin Cities. Great inventory and selection. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you don't know what project to do, I guarantee that after browsing the store you will find inspiration abound. They also have a great selection of kits, precuts and patterns. Their customer loyalty program is fantastic, so you earn $$$ while you shop. The only bummer is that they have recently reduced the floor space to accommodate online orders. When I walked into this store I was immediately overwhelmed by the volume of fabrics. At first I thought this was going to be a small store but no, there were many nooks and corners to explore. This store has about every fabric line available in the quilting world. There were so many kits and project ideas that my brain was swimming with ideas. I spoke to some of the employees how a store like this can stay in business when so many shops have closed, they credit the owner for marketing on-line years ago. Also offers specials for quilters guilds (so have your guild check them out). Her hard work is paying off! read more

Very disappointed. Have been going to Millie P's for years for fabric and long arm services. Picked up my quilt today and when I got it home I was shocked to see the trimming job that was done on my quilt - horrible. The person who did the trimming obviously doesn't know how to create a square quilt. The edges are ruined. I guess I will have to cut it down even more to square it up. VERY Disappointed in the result. Won't be going back. read more

This used to be my quilt shop when I lived in the twin cities. The best selection this side of M*, and great staff besides. I rented their Gamill many times. It's so nice to be able to start and finish a quilt completely, even if it's too large to do on my home machine. read more

My mom is a fabulous sewer and quilter and she has recently gotten more into making custom purses and bags (check out Mag's Bags on facebook). While I am not as crafty as she is, I still love going with to the fabric store and picking out the fabric and other supplies. This past weekend, my sister and I went with our mom to Millie P's in downtown Anoka. This shop was packed with ladies picking out fabric. I happily drive 45 minutes to get to this shop. They have beauiful, bright and fun fabrics, great classes, and lots of extras... all the hardware and parts you need to make all sorts of bags and purses and assorted items. It can get a bit crazy on weekends (and during shop hops)... but the selection is definitely worth the wait! read more

I have shopped there many times and have enjoyed both the location and the selection. My opinion of this shop has drastically changed. I signed up to take a class with my sister recently. Due to circumstances, I was not able to attend the class. I emailed Becky at the store numerous times, then called the store and left a message asking how I can get a refund. I NEVER got an email or phone call back, either saying I could have a refund or not. I understand if a refund can not be issued, but I would have appreciated a phone call regarding my concerns. The customer service is terrible. I do not plan to shop there again, and will make sure to caution my co workers and fellow quilters regarding the risk they take when signing up for any class or workshop. read more

I ordered some fabric online from this shop. After almost a month of waiting and hearing/seeing nothing, I called about it and got the run around for 3 days. They then credited my account, but I never received a call or email about it. I stalled on a quilt waiting for the fabric and even saw it in another shop, but was waiting for it to arrive from Millie P's so didn't buy it. I will not be ordering from this shop ever again. read more
