The best things in life are free and libraries are no exception for a free resource worth its weight in gold. Friendly staff. Library also serves as a health center. Many interesting events including a chess club as I am an avid chess player like Bobby Fischer and the Wu Tang Clan. The selection isn't that large compared to the main library in San Francisco that I frequent back home yet it is quality over quantity. Whoever orders the books here is doing an excellent job. Kudos to the librarians that order the excellent reads here. I had a casual game at the chess club and won. Better to quit while ahead so after I won a single match of chess I was ghost and went to the books here to pursue them for some time before getting on with it getting on with my day.

While the Narberth Library is nowhere near the size of the likes of even the smallest branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia system, it makes up for it in quality by getting a good selection of the latest new releases, blu-ray DVDs, and periodicals, all while keeping its variety fairly fresh and interesting. the children's room has enough to appeal to new readers, young adults looking for the next big Twiligfht or Harry Potter, and people who are looking to appease their manga and graphic novel addiction alike. And if they don't have what you're looking for they do a pretty good job of getting it in. Other amenities of this small community library include a good research and computer station, a relaxing central reading station with free wi-fi that even has a fireplace, and tea/coffee for an inexpensive price. They also do a array of good events that range from book discussions for adults and children, and an annual Librewery beer tasting event.

I've attended a jazz mini concert and information session, participated in a typewriter series that took place, and am now learning how to knit! I read a lot, and usually have quite a few hold requests pending at any given time. The delivery time for books listed as being 'available' has varied greatly- from a few days to several weeks, but thankfully they're all for pleasure, and I have the flexibility to wait. I am originally from Brooklyn, where all of the great programming for adults only takes place at the central library branch. It's very nice to have a local branch here in Philly that is so close to me, and also has fun events and series to attend.

Decided to stop in Tuesday night since they are open 10-7 then and Thursday. The space is definitely a lot smaller than you'd think from the outside. The actual library is on the 2nd floor with some kind of office (Probably the history room; I didn't look at the sign too long as there was a meeting going on and the door was ajar.) off of the flight of steps. It is probably around the same size of my highschool's bibliophile hangout. The selection is definitely just as meager and the shelves seemed disorganized, but, I did manage to find 4 titles too take home. Maybe I was missing something and overlooked the 20k volume they boast. This isn't their fault, but, just as a note the Delaware County Library System doesn't seem as tech-savvy with their website features as Philly. I really enjoyed an more user-friendly catalog and being able to do inter-library loans digitally. They do have an Ebook and audio service, though, which is a plus to make up for that. I'm curious to see what sort of programs they have for adults as time passes as I don't have children. The only thing I saw advertised was computer literacy classes. It is worth bringing the kiddies, though, as they hold family movie nights among other events. Otherwise the staff was nice and the space was quiet and cozy. Will return, though, I may be talking to one of the staff to bring me in some titles in the near future.

This library is close to my job, making it a convenient place for me to pick up DVDs I have…read morereserved online. The staff is always friendly and I get in an out quickly. It's a small library, so its collection of books, DVDs, blurays, and CDS is small. But the full free library catalog is available online and u can get any item delivered here. There is always a security guard and everyone is well behaved. It's not a well known library, but it's a good one.

The second floor is more for group study. There are computer that you can use, and there are also copy machines and printers. There are study rooms which you can reserve which has a huge 42 inch monitor that can accommodate 6-8 people. There is also a nice fish tank on the second floor. It's a great library. The staff is friendly. Good place to study. Love this place!

One of my favorite buildings and institutions! My friend and I did the free tour of the rare book…read moredepartment. It is located on the third floor tours are given on Mondays at 11 a.m. There may be other dates as well. You do not need to register you can just show up. Our Tour Guide was very knowledgeable about the collection. The display and exhibits change every couple months so there's always something new to see. The free library has one of the largest Beatrix Potter collections outside of the UK. It also has an Edgar Allen Poe and Charles Dickens items, illustrations and paintings. Grip, Dickens, pet crow, is on display. After the bird died, Dickens had it preserved. You can get a grip sticker for free! The end of the tour takes you into a library that was moved from the Elkins mansion and reassemble at the library. It has the original furniture which you can actually sit in. As well as books, maps and decorative pieces. It was amazing to see. This is definitely a hidden gem.
