Salmon with sautéed vegetables and spinach in a red pepper sauce
    Kay T.

So nice, I had to visit twice. Jan. 24th & Jan. 25th. On Friday, my friends suggested Tin Marin. We walked in and I immediately loved the ambiance, dark lighting, warm feel, beautiful decor and fully stocked bar. We were seated immediately and given water and bread with the most delicious garlic oil. Our orders were as follows: Gambas al Ajillo, Setas, Papas Bravas, French Fries and the Vegetarian Platter. Drinks: Expresso Martini, Lemon Drop and French 75, Dessert: Tres Leches. The following day, I took my gym buddy there, we timed our arrival to coincide with the 4pm opening. Food: Salmon with sautéed veggies and spinach in a roasted red pepper sauce, French Fries and the Veggie Platter. Drinks: Espresso Martini and French 75. Overall, I loved that the menu had options for us all, the food and drinks were good and most importantly the service was great. I will be visiting again soon.

Very deceptive. Would love to know what exactly a "handling fee" is. Would be to nice to be transparent as a company and inform your guests of charges like this. And not once the bill arrives. Food is very subpar. Cocktail was good. Would not return. --owner responded on google. No accountability what so ever. Claimed that the service charge is stated on their menu. I took video of the website that same day and posted on google and will be posting here. Days later, they finally added in the text to match their lies on their website. No apology. I have already contacted BBB along with visa and will be contacting my bank next. Y'all got me this set off over a measly 3.60$ chump change but it's because of your LIES to your clientele that I'm taking it this far. DECEPTIVE!!!

My experience at Tin Marín Tapas in Riverdale was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. For starters we tried the margaritas on the happy hour menu I'm always skeptical when it come all happy hour drinks but there actually surprised me the taste and presentation were on point. We also had some appetizers, we had the empanadas and the croquet as de pescado meaning fish. The texture was perfect, and they were cooked just right the flavors were soo good. I wasn't to found of the options for the main entrees it was very limited only like 5 option and the paellas. The food looks delicious however it just wasn't what I wanted that day. Overall, this place is a definite win. Great food, solid service, and a lively but intimate atmosphere. I'd absolutely recommend it and would come back.

I think this is a great place for drinks and music only. Its basically just a bar This is not a regular restaurant. The food was not the best and i wish i didnt order the mofongo. It was disappointing and the flan is way too sweet.

This restaurant boasts energy and chill vibes with beautiful renditions of music playing. I went there on a Thursday night with my cousins for dinner, sat outside since it was a beautiful day. However, it was a little uncomfortable sitting at a slope, but that's new york for ya. the bread and garlicky olive oil dip was so good, we asked for seconds. the bread could have been warmer though. we ordered the mofonguitos with chicken, papas bravas for the table. the sauce was fantastic with the mofongo. the papas bravas were thick sliced fried potatoes with a giant dollop of this spicy aioli on top, absolutely order these! for my main, i had the churrasco with mashed potatoes, i'd give it a 7.5/10. the steak was perfectly cooked but their chimichurri was where they lost me. it was too chunky for my taste, very light in color and full of garlic. don't get me wrong, I prefer a more olive oil based with lots of herbs and garlic. i'm a garlic girl but i like my chimichurri the way i like it!

Overall rating: 4.9 Completely worth the trip to the bronx. I stumbled here after visiting one of the nearest gardens & the food was soo good. We got a pitcher of the sangria which I don't think was totally worth it. It was good but not as strong as I wanted. The server was a bit touch and go. And I went in the summer, so the outside ambiance was really nice. But the food was amazing. I went with a friend and here's what we ordered: - Caprese ensaladas: 5/5 absolutely amazing - Papas Bravas: 6/5 sooo good - Chuletitas de Cordero: 6/5 I would come back just for this

This is truly one of my favorite date spots in the entire city! It's got such great food with large portions and more than fair prices, the service is attentive and nice, and the space is warm and lively with everything being extremely inviting! I don't know what more you could want from a restaurant experience. All of the tapas are wonderful, you really can't go wrong. I used to live by this spot but recently moved but I can honestly say I go out of my way to come back and eat here every now and then. Definitely recommend!

This is one of those classic places that never goes out of style aka "my wife favorite place in the Bronx". This spot is a staple in the Riverdale area. Great food and great ambient. Service is great as well and they get the food out of that kitchen really fast - specially if you order Tapas. The vibe hear is super chill - bossa nova type of style. Location is very convenient as well. Keep up the great work.

Girl Scout Cookies delivery spot! The plan to meet at a halfway spot, had us decided on Tin Marin. The restaurant is so much smaller than I expected. My impression from the photos viewed on Yelp appeared to make the restaurant seem larger. In this case size doesn't matter, as this woodsy, crystally decorated Tapas gem of a restaurant, makes up in ambiance and an ample selection of tapas, enticing enough to keep one satisfied. Comfortable bar seating, with accommodating staff to create your off menu drink requests. Outdoor, sidewalk seating is available to tackle the prime time patrons taking advantage of their Happy Hour specials. Parking is challenging in the area, so patience is required. This one issue of parking still makes it worth the trip back to Tin Marin for a repeat visit in future.

The inside was a tad dark, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, which was to be expected given our large group size and the various other tables they had to attend to. The food, overall, was excellent, with this being the first Spain-ish (last time I'll use this bad joke) spot that reminded me of the Ironbound in Newark. In terms of drinks, they have the usual sangria, wines, sherry, and some standard cocktails, but I went with something that's not commonly found in the city. That was the Tinto de Verano, a refreshing mix of red wine and lemon soda, which I believe was around $12. This is a more local drink from Spain, and I was happy to see it here. They also have the Basque drink Kalimotxo, a mix of red wine and Coca-Cola, for $9. They gave us some bread to begin with, which was munched on and soon used with their delicious sauces. As for the rest of the food, we stuck primarily to tapas, aside from a paella. The first thing that arrived was unfortunately something that I couldn't eat, as I have a cephalopod allergy. This was the delicious-smelling Pulpo a la Gallega for $22, consisting of sliced boiled octopus with paprika, salt, and olive oil. The rest of the people loved it, and from serving it to some people, I could tell it was fork-tender. Outside of the pulpo, we got two other seafood tapas. The $16 Vieras a la Casuela, or scallop casserole with red & green peppers, paprika, and olive oil, was delicious. There were plenty of plump scallops with a mild sweetness accentuated by the olive oil and paprika. The $14 Gambas al Ajillo, or prawns in garlic & white wine, was also excellent. The shrimp were cooked very nicely, and the garlic flavor was as strong as it should be. One of the earlier things to arrive was, ironically, my least favorite. This was the $15 Pimientos de Piquillo Rellenos, or Piquillo peppers stuffed with tuna, egg, olives & vegetables. The dish was cool as expected, and while I liked the sauce, I didn't find the texture appealing. The flavor was a bit light for me as well. Next came an excellent version of Tortilla Española for $13, a Spanish omelette with potatoes & onions. A lot of the other Spanish places mess up the texture, but this was perfectly soft and tender. There were plenty of potatoes in there as well, with the onions only mildly cooked down, which added a little bite. There were also two dishes featuring Serrano ham. One was the tasty $13 Judías Salteadas con Jamón Serrano, or sautéed green beans with said ham. The green beans had a nice texture, and the salty ham added a pleasant bite. The other dish with this ham was the Garbanzos a la Española, which was slightly more expensive but also better. For $16, this consisted of roasted garbanzos sautéed with Serrano ham & chorizo. I was surprised I liked this more, as I usually don't like these beans much, but the mixture was very pleasant with the chorizo adding some nice spice. We also ordered two other dishes with chorizo. First was the excellent Huevos al Antojo for $16 with cottage fries, egg, grilled chorizo, and red peppers. This almost felt like a fancy breakfast option with the thin-cut cottage fries having a nice texture, especially when mixed with the runny fried egg. The chorizo and red peppers added a necessary spice to this dish. Otherwise, there was the simpler Chorizo al Vino, or chorizo in wine sauce, for $14. This was as good as can be expected for such a plain dish, but it was still tasty. Rounding out the tapas was the $9 Patatas Bravas, or spicy potatoes with a cooling white sauce, which was pretty good too. I've had this in plenty of places, and this was decent. I have liked the texture more in some other places, but it was still good and was plenty piquant. Our remaining main dish was the $48 Paella Valencia, which had a mix of seafood and meat. The seafood included one of my allergens, but they removed it, so I was fine eating that dish. Otherwise, I believe the remaining ingredients, aside from the spices and peppers, were mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, chicken, and chorizo. All the seafood inside was cooked nicely, and the rice had a good flavor. This was an excellent paella, and the portion size was quite large, still served in the large vessel it was cooked in. The remaining dish was dessert, the $9 Tarta de Santiago, or Spanish almond cake, served with vanilla ice cream, which might have been an extra charge, but I'm not positive. The cake had a marzipan flavor and was lightly sweet. It was a satisfying end to the meal. We had a very good meal here. No particular favorites, as everything was very tasty overall.

We're a local family that made it a point to come to dinner here at least once a month but our last visit was the last nail in the coffin. The younger waitress has never once smiled and has is always been all business but at least she doesn't bully and antagonize her tables. The chef was gruff, rude, and treated us noticeably different from all of the tables. When he brought out our bottle of wine and I said "yay that looks great!" he paused, gave me a dirty look, and said "you're determined not to have a good time, aren't you?"-- despite this being the first thing I said to him and his waitstaff directly beyond our order. Shocked, and not wanting to ruin the dinner for my dining companion, I brushed it off, but promised myself I would not return. The chef makes it a habit to complain about how busy he is, how understaffed he is, but also how long people take at tables-- and also seemingly makes arbitrary decisions about who and what he takes offense to. If the chef stays in the kitchen and gets waitstaff that understand what providing good customer service for -everyone- looks like, we'll be back, but at this rate and reading other reviews it looks like pigs will fly before that happens!

We ordered fried calamari misto (fantastic!), bacalao croquettes, polenta crostini, and Olar salad (simple but delicious) to start. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty.
