We have used Tim's Fences numerous times for new, replacement and repair of cedar and wrought iron fences and gates. The staff is professional, caring and responsive. Tabitha, sales manager, is knowledgeable, friendly and competent. Rafael, construction supervisor, is efficient and meticulous. Update October 2024, one year after installation Unfortunately, the gates and latches that Tim's Fences installed a year ago have been nothing but problematic. After several phone calls and emails to them, they sent a person out when we were unable to close the gate or latches but all he did was hammer the gate and paint the misaligned latch. We struggled to open and close the gates and latches this past year. The situation continued to get worse until the gate was once again unable to close. Tim said that he would charge $220 to have someone come out to fix the latches but was very rude and made excuses that the problem would probably happen again because of weather conditions and ground shifts. These were pricey gates and latches that they recommended to avoid this type of problem. Our previous gates and latches lasted 23 years through all types of weather. I am not going to use Tim's fences with his exorbitant charge for fixing a problem that he was hired to do properly in the first place. I can not recommend this company based on their poor customer service. Original Review 2023 When my wooden gates became warped, it was a struggle for me to open and close them. I knew I needed to replace them as well as some shared fencing along the sides of the house. While all wood fences look fairly nice to me when they are first erected, I noticed that many seem to have problems after a short time. I had contracted with Tim's Fences seven years ago to install a wrought iron fence around my dogs' play yard. It still looks beautiful so I knew that I wanted Tim's fences to install my wooden gates since quality is important to me. Trenton Talley came out to give me an estimate and I explained that having easy to use latches and gates that would not warp were my prime considerations. Trenton recommended reinforced metal framed gates as well as attractive and sturdy steel hardware. The workers who installed the fence and gates did an excellent job. They worked efficiently all day and cleaned up the area after the job was finished. I am very pleased with the look of the cedar fence as well as the ease of using the gate latches. I needed a rod iron fence replaced and I called 3 fence companies. Tim's fences called back the same day and had someone come out the same day as well. I did get 3 quotes and although they were similar in cost because of the customer service and quick response I chose Tim's. It's sad that I need to take what little personal time I have in my busy life to write a review about Tim's Fence. My story starts with this Company not being hired by me but through Sub Contractlng maybe? Tim's Fence through my HOA was hired to put up some New Fencing. The Crew of Tim's Fence while digging New Holes for their Posts Cut Into my Electrical Line and Put a New Pole and Cemented the Pole to my Electric Line causing me to lose Power to my House. There are Pictures and Experts that show that there's No Doubt that the Crew of Tim's Fence hit my Power Line. Tim and his Insurance Company have denied our Claim for Repairs . It would be in anyones best interest not to Hire this company. read more

It's now been about 4 years since Tim's Fences installed our wooden fence. I've noticed part of the fence has started to lean and there hasn't been any strong winds (especially no hurricanes) since they came out to do previous storm repairs (see my first review). Some of the "treated" 2x4's have started to splinter as well. My neighbors are having some of the same issues. I have told anyone looking for a fence not to use Tim's. We need some metal fence work done next month and we will not call Tim's for an estimate. Find someone else for your fence work......we will. read more

Absolutely 100% positive experience. I live in The Woodlands / Conroe area, but I chose to get a proposal from Tim's Fences in Stafford because of the MANY positive reviews on Angie's List. They did not think twice about driving up this way on more than one occasion to meet with me, answer my questions, measure, and install my fence and gates. My lot sits high up a hill and slopes down to a lake. This was not an ordinary installation, and yet Tim's Fences made it seem "routine." Very professional, very punctual, and exactly the type of service that (in my opinion) the competition is lacking. Joe (in the office), Tim (the owner), and German (the installer) and his crew have excellent communication skills and are obviously proud of what they do / the company / the product. I also like that they take credit cards, because I enjoy building up my rewards points even though I pay my credit card statement in full when it arrives. Would I recommend Tim's? Absolutely! They came in after we had a stressful house and pool build and they restored our faith in good, honest, and reliable commitment to both a quality product and top-notch customer service. Work in progress: Work complete (Aug 12th received paid invoice by mail, so assume that means they are done?). Update at end of review. So far they've done a GREAT job with what has been installed, just "heads up" and caution review. From my lessons learned. "If" working with neighbor... YOU!!! be the one to contact and work with "Tim's Fences". 1) We paid our share 8 weeks ago. Work started this week. Our common fence is NOT complete because of issues our neighbor has. They halted "Tim's Fences" work. 2) Trash (screw and nail gun strips AND long tree limbs that were cut from neighbor's yard) left all in our yard. It was explained that "when the guys work a long day in the heat, they're tired". So solution for future customers, hire them to do your work only in winter months? I'll update when work is complete, as stated, we paid in full (our portion) 2 months ago and still have only partial fence and was told "Tim's Fence" will complete work when neighbor who contracted them is ready for work to be finished. So our money gone, work not done and was also told that neighbor has NOT paid for work yet. So we have nothing to do but wait. Very troubling because I was assured that "our" common fence would be done. 90% of neighbors yard finished, only 60% of "our" fence complete. We are fortunate not to outdoor pets, but now have our backyard open and exposed to street view and neighbors. UPDATE - (*changed 1 star to 3) Earlier today I received a call from "Tim's Fences" Rep. This evening 2 employees installed "front" section of fence. "Common Fence" still in progress, BUT that is not completely "Tim's Fences" fault. Large cut limbs were removed (some I had not seen, but were picked up and taken away) UPDATE (LAST)* final review 4 stars for quality of work. Still leaning to 3 stars, but learned from my experience and hope this review helps other "Yelpers!" The work crew came out and worked on fence, but I only know because compressor was plugged in front of my front door so i could hear it kick on and off throughout the day. Compressor was taken away crew left. Next contact was today when i go the invoice in mail. So i walked out to check work. Not going to discuss all the ups and downs of the work. Just use my experience to help YOU avoid any headaches or disappointments. My only last advice is to do some research on the grade and quality of fence pickets that will be used. Ensure that you get what you want. I'm not sure if the pickets used are a lower grade? Or split when installed? Just make sure you take pictures. The contract has some clause about a extra charge it you talk to the workers. So i stayed clear of workers. But how do you address issues if only workers come and go? I had contact with company rep and asked for call from "boss" but never happened. read more

A representative came to give me a quote the day after I called for an appointment. They were by far the best price and also the most honest. Three other companies told me I had to replace more fence than I actually did. There was a bit of a delay to schedule to job due to the Christmas holiday which is totally understandable. The men that came to do the repair were on time, professional, meticulous, and efficient. They cleaned everything up and even did additional work to reset a post at no cost to me. I actually asked if they would replace the post, they told me no need- refused to take my money. Then did the work of resetting the post at no cost just to allay my fears and ensure the third post was solid with fresh concrete. Who does that?!? Then I accidentally overpaid the final balance because I transposed 2 numbers. I got a call from them the next day and they hand delivered me a check for the difference. This kind of service, honesty, and professionalism is exceedingly rare these days so I really wanted to give them the praise they deserve. I give them my highest recommendation. They treated my small 2 post fence repair as if it was a big, lucrative, and important job and I was a valuable client. So pleased with my experience. read more

The fence they installed seems to be fine, however, I'll be working for long hot hours to repair my yard that they destroyed. I paid a lot of money to have landscape cloth and large rocks laid on the ground on the side and back of my garage. This was done to prevent weeds. Tim's workers piled dirt on top of the stones and now it has settled down all over the stones. I'm now getting weeds and my only solution is to spend days picking up the tons of rocks, cleaning them and re-installing them. I'm beyond disappointed and will not recommend them to my friends and neighbors. read more

We received quotes from 3 companies to replace our old cedar fence with a new 7 ft high double faced dear fence with a cap. We chose Tim's fences as their price were competitive, the quote was very transparent and broken down into a number of subcategories, and Tim did an excellent job explaining options and making suggestions based on his experience. Total job covered 108 feet including a gate. The work was completed as per schedule. The job cost exactly what was quoted and his team carried out high quality work. I wish there were a way to post pictures of the fence we had installed by Tim about 17 mo. ago; it appears to have leprosy; thousands of knot holes and they get white when wet. I've never seen anything so ugly. I regret using their services; the guys who work for him were excellent but he failed to provide quality wood; I'm heartbroken at the site of it. read more

I contacted Tim's fence after seeing them at a home and garden show. I spoke with the rep at the show and the they were very knowledgeable and friendly to me. So, a few weeks after the show I contacted them to get an estimate for a rot iron drive way gate. But instead of the friendly staff I met at the home show, I got an email with a price range. I felt the email was rude and came across as... If you can afford our prices give us a call. Well you can be sure that I did not give them a call. I contacted another company who came right out and provided me with an exact estimate and I will be having the gate installed in a few weeks.
