Oh, please -- if you live in Italy and enjoy peace of mind, do yourself a favor and AVOID Telecom Italia (TIM). I cancelled my home internet contract in June 2025 and even returned the router butbank charges for a service that no longer existed carried on for three months, despite their own confirmation that the contract was terminated and there was no outstanding balance. Then, eight months after I cancelled, they informed me of a mysterious €70 "debt" handed over to a debt collection agency -- apparently for router installment fees they never bothered to tell me about. My TIM account was closed immediately after cancellation, so I couldn't even log in to check what they'd been charging me. ZERO STARS if I could! I strongly advise against using Telecom Italia (TIM) services to anyone residing in or visiting Italy. The company's administrative procedures and digital systems have proven inadequate even for managing a simple home internet contract cancellation, causing significant inconvenience and stress. Despite the formal termination of the contract in May 2024, with the return of the devices and written confirmation from TIM, I continued to receive bank charges for a service no longer active. After numerous communications via certified email (PEC), TIM confirmed that the contract had been properly terminated and that there was no outstanding debt. However, in the following months, unauthorized withdrawals totaling €51.72 were made from my bank account. At this point I did not have access to the original account via the TIM app nor their website to see the charges because the account did not exist. Following further complaints, the direct debit mandate was finally revoked by TIM, but the undue amount has not been refunded. This week, more than a year after closing the contract & thinking I had no more dealings with TIM, I received communications from a Milanese debt collection agency hired by TIM, demanding payment of €130 within 10 days or else, despite written confirmation that I had no debts. Moral of the story... If you're looking for a reliable and transparent operator, look elsewhere because TIM is a total nightmare even for fluent Italian speakers. read more

I used TIM for 15 months while living in Italy. After many attempts via their horrible online chat, I was able to get confirmation of cancellation of service due to my moving out of country. I sent the modem back per their instructions (and had proof). This scandalous company continues to charge me modem rental fee even though I have proof of delivery! Now that I do not have an account with them, there is almost no way to contact them, and because my Italian is not very good, when I call I get zero help. Stay away from this company, I do not recommend using them. --------------------- Ho usato TIM per 15 mesi mentre vivevo in Italia. Never sign business contract with TIM. TIM surprisingly charge you for different issues, you can not cancel the contract in any of their stores, nobody answer your emails and TIM push you to pay it. I'm in Italy now and if I could give TIM lower than 1 star I would. I bought the tourist plan TIM SIM 40GB at 4G speed a few days ago at the TIM store in Rome termini train station. They could not get my service correct because they did not care or want to. First, I never got the welcome text and the service, which they said would take about an hour. So I went back to the train station mad house and they started the service. Service was terrible speed. When I had to spend more of my vacation time going back to the Termini TIM store they insisted it was slow because I was in the massive building. Seriously I had to argue with them that I had been outside for hours walking and never got 4G. I refused to leave until I had 4G showing on my phone...and yes they got it to work and it worked at 4G speed in the building. They were lazy and rude. They acted as if I was wrong to expect their SIM to actually work. Now,,,,I am I Southern italy with a TIM problem/question and the 119 text/call help service number they promised was in English for tourists was a big lie. And I don't speak Italian. I had an Italian person translate their return text and it says they will get back to me in 2 hours...they never do. I've tried 3 days in a row. read more
