Theresa and Kevin really went the extra mile throughout the process. This knowledgeable, enthusiastic pair helped us on many different levels. They have so many strengths that it's tough to list them all, but we'll give it a try. - They have a deep understanding of the market. This was important for us, because apparently there were really no comparable houses nearby to help establish a price. However, Theresa and Kevin were able to call on their experience to establish a price that was very fair to us as sellers, sat well with the appraiser, and also got the house sold within a week. That says the Edwards Team monitors the pulse of the market very accurately. - They were honest, pointing out areas where our 19-year-old house needed repairs and updates before selling. They were also upfront with us about timing (our repairs took longer than expected, so that we missed the peak selling window). - They were supportive, explaining the process thoroughly, and answering our nervous texts or calls promptly. They usually got back to us on the same day, in fact. They also shared their extensive lists of reliable contractors, all of whom did excellent work at reasonable prices. - They did the staging as part of their service, saving us a significant amount of money. Their well-chosen, up-to-date staging furniture really highlighted the strong points of the house, allowing it to shine in photos and look the best it has in years. - They were true partners in the process. We live three hours from the house we were selling, so at times it was difficult to get to the house when needed. But Theresa and Kevin had our backs. When a contractor needed access and we were out of town, Kevin was there to let him in and supervise his work. When a door looked ugly, Theresa rolled up her sleeves and painted it. They installed lights, updated cabinet handles, and generally helped us to polish the house. To sum it all up, we are extremely satisfied customers. Don Von represented the sellers in a recent real estate transaction in which I was the buyer…read more Throughout the process he demonstrated questionable business practices, unprofessionalism, and disorganization. Here are the facts: 1. He listed the property as 4.5 baths. It is 4 baths. He changed it after a few days. 2. He stated "immediate occupancy"in the listing. The sellers wanted 45-60 days to close. 3. He described the property as "meticulously maintained" in the listing. There were a number of deferred maintenance issues, including a leaking skylight and wood rot on the chimney. 4. A final walk-through date was requested 3 weeks in advance. After asking my agent when I would like to do a final walkthrough the day before it was agree to take place, she reminded him that the walk through date was requested 3 weeks prior. He had not informed the sellers and my walkthrough was postponed with less than 24 hours notice. 5. I had a second walk through on the day of the scheduled closing because of the poor condition of the property during the prior walk through. The sellers had left numerous personal items including a couch. He suggested my agent load them in her car and haul them away. She refused given that we had not closed and did not view it legally permissible to take personal property without the owners knowledge. 6. He was slow to provide signed paperwork. Often indicating he was busy and/or did not have time to drive across town. I suggest steering clear of any real estate transaction in which he is involved. There are many great real estate agents, he is definitely not one of them.
