This general store is adorable with Pinterest worthy touches (canoe on the ceiling with twinkle…read morelights, fresh sunflowers, etc.) and everyone there was super friendly/ helpful. It has a limited range of grocery items, but with that in mind, don't pass this place. They have baked-goods, hot and iced coffees with flavor pumps, grab and go breakfast sandwiches/ pizza, chips/ candy, selection of beverages both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. We also ordered food to eat in-store at a handful of tables. My son got a breakfast burrito, my daughter got a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin. Later in the day, they stopped back in for meatball subs and a garden salad. Everything was delicious. There are also locally-produced items like soaps, local meat, etc., Definitely will be back next summer!

Most of their products are Hannaford brand, their paper bags say "Hannaford", even their name badges have the Hannaford brand. But don't dare call this a Hannaford store or the employees will give you an earful, lol. If you go there in the weekdays they have some very entertaining locals who often walk the aisles for something to do. You get shopping and entertainment all in one.

Unfortunately we live in a small Maine ski town so we have to settle for what we have unless we…read morewant to drive 25 miles or more in any direction, so therefore the locals use the store all the time. The thing that is frustrating is they seem to cater to the out of towners more than the people who are here for them year round. After the weekend, the market is empty and they restock toward the middle or the end of the week before the tourist come. Their produce is disgusting, nothing is fresh. Try to find anything in the store and it's a challenge even for the people who shop there all the time. And let me just say this about the choices, seems like whoever is ordering is only getting a brand they like and then only what they would choose. For instance they carry Brigham's ice cream, the only flavor, peppermint stick. I happen to like that type but why buy only one flavor. I've tried finding large cans on albacore solid white tuna and so many other things, that were always there before this group bought the store and can never find them. They really need to take into consideration the people who live here and maybe cater to the people who keep them in business year round!

To say it is an eye source would be all too kind. The interior continues with limited upkeep being performed over the decades of ownership. The floors were a hodgepodge of material, not well-kept, and not really clean in appearance. The 5 second (nor 1 second) rule would apply here. The store itself offered a wide variety of drinks, snacks, food, and alcoholic beverages and were at extremely sensible prices. Deal of the day was a steal!! $5 for 2 slices of pizza, a bag of chips, and a can of soda. The pizza was actually fresh, well seasoned, and tasty despite the visual appearance of the facility. Make sure to get the Humpty Dumpty Chips (with their self-proclaimed'explosion of flavor' in every bag) and a 12 oz can of Moxie to get the FULL Maine experience. In short; I'd get food here again and would be hesitant to touch the floor! The 'deal of the day' is always too good to pass up!

And their pizza is pretty excellent. However, the biggest attraction is a wide variety of craft beers and wines. Mrs. B herself goes out of her way to procure a huge variety of high quality offerings. I'm not a wine guy so I can't say much, but I know the selection is good and interesting. I AM a beer guy, and for such a small store in such a small town, the beers are something special. A wide variety of chilled single-picks, along with special gift boxes of Belgian ales; domestic and foreign brews from Thailand to Maine. Rogue, Dogfish Head, Allagash, Smuttynose, Atlantic, Clown Shoes, Slumbrew, Stone, Chimay, Uinta, Unibroue...these are only a few of the great things awaiting you at Mrs. B's. Plus, with a little planning ahead you can order a keg through the store, and there's even a section of coolers for the cretin Bud/Miller/Coors/Busch drinkers out there. God help your souls.
