Looking for a primary care physician? You can't do better than Dr. March. She is, hands-down, the…read morebest PCP I've ever had! She always runs late for appointments (seriously, usually an hour or so). But she is well-worth the wait. She runs late for appointments because she actually spends time listening to you and talking with you. She never rushes you and will spend an hour with you if needed. She will never make you feel rushed. She is proactive on treatment of anything and also a registered nutritionist. She will never say "well, let's see if your leg falls off first before we do something". She knows your history, will take action when needed, and also give you a reality check even if uncomfortable. I am seriously dreading the day when I move away from Pittsburgh and have to find another PCP, because none have ever or will ever be as great as Dr. March. Definitely choose her and don't stress about the wait.

After some investigation, reading other reviews and speaking to my primary care physician, it seems like many people have had the exact same issues. I went to Dr. Levine as my pcp and gyne for a couple of years…read more When I was having regular migraines out of the blue, she said she didn't know why, and said they probably weren't migraines (they were localized headaches with an aura and vomiting). She prescribed me an antidepressant, with no other follow up to try and determine the cause. I didn't like the drug, so I tapered off of it. At my next appt, she just shrugged her shoulders and didn't offer any other tests or solutions, than to say it might be an allergy. (After about 2 years, the migraines stopped as suddenly as they started.) I had a mole removed that she said she wasn't going to bother sending for biopsy, even though it had become itchy and reddish. Then the kicker was when I went in after having menstrual spotting every day for over a month. I told her that my periods had always beem highly irregular (I was in my late 20's at this point) and that despite not using an sort of birth control regularly, I had never gotten pregnant. She said that it sounded on paper like PCOS but that she wasn't going to test me for it because I don't "look like" I have it. Then she said I probably can't have kids, and that's that, and sent me out thw door to schedule my next routine appt. I did not schedule another appointment. A couple of years later my husband and I started trying to have a kid. I skipped the ob-gyn and went straight to a fertility specialist. Not only was I immediately diagnosed with PCOS that I've likely had since puberty, but the years of not being diagnosed and treated for it had lead to a precancerous endometrial growth. The best thing I ever did for my health was to find a different doctor.

His callous attitude and lack of understanding has caused me to search out a new physician. I don't know what happened to him, but I don't feel a need to receive care (or lack thereof) from a doctor who apparently does not give a damn anymore about his patients.

Apparently, I'd needed it for years and no other medical professional has noticed this. Kudos. Dr. Reasbeck is a gem. Very thorough and funny and professional. He thoughtfully answered my questions and I didn't feel rushed. They really don't make 'em like this anymore. Come a bit early for your appointment. Since this is in the Heinz building, you have to sign in with security and get a visitor's badge to swipe through to the elevators. It only took a couple minutes, but I went after "rush hour."
