I slipped in to the store, hoping not to draw attention to myself because let's be honest - I can't afford anything inside and was promptly greeted with warm hellos and smiles. This put me at ease. Browns aren't particularly modern - the setting isn't particularly sleek or sophisticated, it is quaint and modest. The attention is on the jewellery and the enormous precious stones that gleam out at you. Gold, silver, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds - I've seen them all here. The wares are truly phenomenal. Browns also do watch repairs and stock other pieces - not just rings. They just happen to be the thing that catches my eye.

I was a bit reluctant to go as it only had one review and didn't have an online store but I still went just to check it out. The place is a bit small but nonetheless a gem. The jewelry was incredibly unique and high quality. It was a little on the more expensive side (as I am a kid) but I found I was completely willing to buy as a lot of the stuff seemed to be one of a kind, or at least something I wouldn't find in my country. The clerks were amazing and really helpful. I'm usually very nervous around salespeople but I was surprised at how comfortable I felt talking to them and asking about some of their jewelry. In the end, I left with a little less money in my wallet but was ecstatic at my purchase. I highly recommend this place if you want some unique pieces at a decent price and especially pleasant service. (In fact, I made this Yelp account just to post a review! Peter Arnold is a kooky man with a strange sense of humour who managed to take in exactly what I wanted and turn it into my dream engagement ring. The carat and clarity of my diamond meant the ring I have would have cost three thousand dollars more than I paid had I brought it from a store. We also got our wedding rings made through him, as well as a ring left to me from my grandmother into a peal ring. Each prototype is then hand sculpted in clay and is characterised by its uneven lines and finger smoothed surface of the design which gives each piece its handmade feel. The prototypes are then cast in resin before being sanded, drilled and finished by hand to give the unique finish for which Dinosaur Designs has become known and loved. Many of our pieces of jewellery also include Australian silver, gold, chrome and semi-precious stones.
