Usually when I travel I like to taste Indian food in that new destination. So when I was in Tulum, I'd totally heard great things about the Tika Curry and Grill restaurant. So it's conveniently located in the heart of downtown Tulum. It's on one of the crossed street.
So I'd went here for dinner on a Thursday evening and totally was inspired by how traditional and awesome this restaurant is from both the outside and inside. They have these big Ganesh statues with the Hindu Om on the walls. They also have a traditional seating area where you can comfortably sit on cushions on the floor and have a meal.
Haha! Not to mentioned the smell of curry was overwhelming beautiful and tasty in the air. I loved it.
The staff were chilled and very accommodating.
I'd ended up having vegetable samosas, which were crunchy from the outside yet so fresh and tasty in the inside. It's seriously the best samosas I've had in a while. They also served with three different types of sauce.
Now for my main entree, I had chicken vindaloo served with white rice and naan. Haha! I thought that was only what I was going to get.
Surprisingly my food was served in a traditional Indian dinnerware copper set. I'd ended up having several tiny bowls that included the chicken vindaloo, dhal, curry beans, curry cabbage and some other vegetables I don't what it was, but I felt as though I was in heaven.
I asked for it to not be too spicy. Although the flavors and the smell of the curry was intriguing. Seriously it's the best Indian food right here in Tulum, Mexico.
I believed the guy who served me was the owner and he mentioned he was from one of the states in the USA.
His mannerism and sense of humor was amazing. I'd enjoyed our delightful conversation.
He also said that they have LIVE Indian music on Friday evenings.
