Project for 2 egress windows was to start end of April to early May. Didn't start until June…read more On July 8th I asked them to not come back to my property. Window 1: the well is not centered. The window is not squared in place. Window 2: the well is not secured to the foundation. There are chunks of foundation missing on the inside. And I don't trust that there aren't chunks of foundation missing where the window is placed and I can't see. Windows are placed at different heights from each other. Negligent in the fact that they didn't cover vents or seal off bedrooms while cutting cement. Our ducts and hvac system are full of concrete dust. They did deduct the air duct cleaning from our final price. I should have demanded they cover more of the damage they caused. Dead grass in 3 large patches of my lawn from dirt sitting there for an extended period of time. Chipped and broken siding. No leveling or grading of the ground around the window wells. At the end of the day, if you want to schedule a project and have the project done in a timely fashion, don't hire them. If you don't care about the time frame, still don't hire them. They can't even measure or square up a window.

The contractor made mistakes and passed the extra costs on to us. The contractor often did not return calls, texts or emails. The project took longer than agreed upon. Applegren refused to complete unfinished work without additional payment over and above the agreed upon contract. We were unable to resolve issues without legal action. We took the case to ND small claims court and won. (See ND Court System, Grand Forks County, Civil Case #18-2021-SC-00186) We do not recommend this contractor. They are a deceptive and dishonest contractor. As the previous review says, please think twice before hiring this contractor.

Chris Grochow, the owner, called to check on my parents and within 24 hours we were replacing the upstairs bath with a walk-in shower and moving the laundry from the basement to the main floor. They will do it several times within 6 months for you. My girls work multiple jobs while in college and do not sleep "normal" hours, grab sleep when they can. They have been in their current place 6 months and this morning 2 guys decided to let themselves in to check fire detectors??? I had literally just face timed one of my daughters 2 days ago while her boyfriend changed a battery in one of them, so the answer is "NO", it was not an emergency. Had the company called to ask about the detectors before sneaking in early this morning, they would have been informed as such. If you like leaving multiple messages to fix a bathtub that is leaking through the ceiling, or about mold growing on the baseboards- this is right up your alley! They could not care any less. If you like being hung up on when you call to complain about random workers letting themselves in without notice, enjoy! They are not a safe company to work with. Beware!!!!!
