It's located at the end of the Main Street in town where there is plenty of street parking along both sides of the street and where there are public restrooms and a cute "LOVE"-themed photo op. We always walk down here and enjoy walking to the end where there is a covered gazebo with some seating if you want to sit and enjoy the water for a while with shade.

The fishing pier is located at the end Randolph Street of the small downtown. It has a well-groomed walking path to the pier, a few picnic tables and a very sweet Little Free Library. The walking path is like a wooden deck but has sand on it, so don't wear your favorite shoes. The grounds are clean and offer a quaint view of the Bay. Coming from Cleveland, it took me by surprise to see water with no waves. Apparently this part of the Bay is waveless. It was so nice to see families staked out on the pier trying to catch local fish. Worth a stop if you're cruising around Cape Charles or taking a walk!

I come here occasionally, because this is one of my friend's favorite places to drink and chill. He is the king of dives. We had grand expectations of enjoying the weather and view on Sunday and well the weather said, that's definitely NOT happening. Instead of relaxing atop the upper deck with a nice view of the ocean we switched to the inside where it was bustling with people taking shelter from the rain from either fishing and those who also had been atop the deck. It's really clean on the inside and is decorated with eclectic randomness of beach signs to nautical decor. The bar was filled with chatter from various groups, no music was played. They have the hanging ring and hook game. Our group which turned out to be a group of 10 became obsessed with this very simpleton game. Focus was strong and intense. They have Tecate drink specials for $2.50 if your quest is for cheap beer. I had a pina colada which was really good and turned out to only be $4.50! Their wings were lip smacking and saucy and one of the people in our group ordered calamari which happened to be mixed in with onion rings. At first we were joking that they threw in onion rings to make it look like calamari to make their supply last. We ended up looking at the menu to see if it was advertised with onion rings. It stated with "fried onions." So there you go! All in all it's a decent place to relax and have some drinks and reasonably priced eats. Parking - oh it's a bit on the small and tight side which can be good in other situations, but definitely NOT when it comes to parking. Ocean VIew has come a long way and is starting to revamp itself. But those dive bars if you love them still exist over here.

When confronted, they called us a liar and continued to gaslight us that they were open until 11PM the next day. They blocked both of us after calling them out. We spent five hours on his smaller of the two boats and really enjoyed a relaxed day of fishing. The kids (5,8,10,12) caught some fish and the highlights of the day surely were the 3 sand sharks that we caught and let go. What a find! It's not just a boat launch, it's a great park!…read more From what I've found online the Messick Point Landing was updated and improved around 2005. There's a couple of launches available and 4 piers. Enough parking for a fleet both in the well lighted parking lot and pier side. The entire place is also handicapped accessible. The facility is also open 24 hours and there are no fees. In addition the spacious property houses the Poquoson Yacht Club, a private boating club that anyone can join, and a restaurant called Bull Island BBQ that I'll be checking out in the future. This is a great place to spend the afternoon with your family, friends or even your dog. Check it out.
