The Roman Theatre of Orange is fascinating and definitely worth seeing if you are in the Vaucluse in France. It dates back to the 1st Century AD but is still used as a theatre to this day. It is also one of the few Roman theaters that still has an intact scaenae frons, an elaborately decorated portion of the theater's stage.
It is clear why this has been designated a UNESCO world heritage site. A lot of the theater still remains and other portions have been rebuilt. You can tour most of the theater with an audio guide. read more
