This is a nice place where it opened on Sunday. It's hard to find restaurants opened on Sunday around this remote area. I ordered Cobb salad which was really huge and tasted delicious. My husband ordered fried steak and it was cooked really well. Service was friendly and nice. We also got their famous ho-made rhubarb and strawberry pie and we loved it. This place is quite an historical site itself where a couple developed the area. I'm glad we find this place. read more

Definitely recommend! We stayed in Orderville to be between Bryce and Zion. We ate here two nights in a row because we were so pleased. We had salads that were huge and fresh. Great beer/craft beer and wine choices. Friendly and quick service. read more

They are only getting an extra star for their pie. The hubs and I stayed at the hotel for a few days and thought this place would be a perfect spot after a long day of hiking. Key word: thought. The first time we went, we were seated in a corner and sat there for 15 minutes before our waiter came by. He apologized and explained three big families arrived right before us. The rest of the meal was fine after that. The bread was really good, the food was okay. So we gave it another shot. The next day we came in for an early dinner. Our waitress was nice and took our order within the first five minutes. Our order came quickly, but my husband was given the wrong order, and my vegetables were cold. Then we both ordered pie with ice cream. My ice cream came, his didn't. We had coffee, but didn't get spoons to stir our creamer in. Then we had the check set up ready to pay, and our waitress passed three time before grabbing it. It's just a bunch of little things that added up to two really lame dinner experiences. We stopped here after a long day at Zionsville National Park an hour before the advertised close time. We were immediately told the kitchen is slammed and there is a wait. Two thirds of the seating is empty, it didn't look like more than 12 people were seated. A woman next to the hostess chimed in saying she is the front end manager and there isn't enough staff. If there is a staff shortage it would make sense for one of the 2 seating people to be doing something else. It appeared to me they were trying to close early. We left, not wanting our food from a staff that was annoyed by having customers. read more

My husband and I came to have dinner here last night. . We called ahead of time to see if they could do take out and they guy said no, Have a nice night. tldr: long wait and okay entrees, but ho-made pie was great long: My family came here after hiking Angel's Landing at Zion, so we were starving! When we got here, there were lots of extra tables but they still told us there would be a ten minute wait. Once we finally got a table, they brought out some bread and water, and we ordered. The salad bar is pretty unimpressive, but it helped the wait for the food. The server was really friendly, but the food took about 40 minutes to come out, which was quite disappointing. I ordered the chicken breast, my sister ordered the fettuccine alfredo, and my mom ordered the tilapia. They were all alright but my chicken was pretty dry; I think the pasta was the favorite of the table. We ended the night with the strawberry rhubarb pie which was quite delicious. The food was really solid for the area selection after a long 8 hour day of Hiking. Waiter was friendly and I never had to ask for anything the entire time. After hiking all day at Bryce Canyon National Park, I decided to stay the night in nearby Orderville. If you ever find yourself in this area, you'll find out that there's not too many dining options. Everyone in town seems to recommend this place, so I opted for it. It was just a few miles drive down the highway. It will immediately stand out because of the cool, old-school neon diner sign hanging high above. The Food: - Bread: I loved the complimentary bread that they bring out. It was so warm and fresh. It also happened to be very light, so it was easy to polish off! - Burger: I opted for the Mushroom Swiss Burger, and it did not disappoint one bit! I found the burger itself to have a nice "crust" to it from being on the grill-top. It was also a good-size. - Fries: The fries that came with the burger were amazing! They were really crunchy and flavorful. - Ho-Made Pie: I chose the Thunderberry pie w/ ice cream, because the waitress said it was her favorite. I was completely blown away by it! It might actually be the best I've ever had. I found the berries to be so fresh. It was great, that it had a variety of different ones too! I would highly recommend this place to anyone stopping in town, or just passing through. Especially after a long day hiking, this place definitely hits the spot! read more

Hot Turkey Sandwich was thin discs of fried, salty deli turkey which was jerky tough sitting on toasted white bread, barely enough gravy to cover the turkey served with mashed potatoes more gravy and fresh steamed vegetables. Okay so Thunderbird has an awesome story, great service, and a big menu. They're the only good place around here to grab food unless you go to Kanab. I'm giving them 3 stars for the food. A blind vegan could have cooked a better sirloin. It was tough, way overcooked, and chewy. After camping for what felt like forever (3 days) and running a million and a half miles (30) a group of 5 of us stopped here mainly because of the "Ho-Made Pie" sign. We were slightly crazy and a bit delirious from participating at Ragnar at the Zion Ponderosa ranch but our server kept our good times going, beers and coffee all around. They definitely are taking advantage of being one of very few places to eat in their area by hiking the prices of their food way up. I ate a burger that was just awful with stale buns. She thought the hamburger meat was gamey. My chicken fried steak was just OK and the vegetables tasted like they came from a can. Only the pies save this place from a 1 star rating. On both nights, we had pies from there. Pam loved the chocolate pie and I had both the thunderberry and coconut cream pies. The place seemed to be understaffed when I got our pies on August 15.
