I'm giving it two stars because the facility was clean. That's literally IT. I made an appointment for my dog for an urgent wound on his paw. I made his appointment for "Illness/Sickness". His appointment was for 2:45. When I arrived, I was there early. It took me forever, ringing the bell at the front to get someone to come out and acknowledge that we were even there with multiple cameras pointing at us and doctors talking in the NEXT ROOM with the DOOR OPEN. Once I finally got acknowledged, the front desk informed me that she would be putting us in a room and someone would be with us shortly. There was another pet parent that came in maybe 10 minutes behind me, she stated she was a walk in and only needed vaccinations. She was seen and gone BEFORE US AND WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT. No one even came in the room to ask my baby's name. We waited 30-35 MINUTES before I decided to walk out and get my dog serviced elsewhere. My thing is, had this been something more dire, my dog would be in a worse state. If I made the appointment as a sick or illness appointment, there should have been some urgency to service my dog seeing as though no one knew what was really going on. They didn't seem to care and totally disregarded my baby! I sat in the exam room and listened to the doctors and techs talk about everything under the sun while me and my baby waited patiently to be seen. When i called to complain, they stated the only thing they could do for me was get me another appointment that was TWO DAYS AWAY (still not knowing the situation my dog was in). Thank God it was something I could fix at home with the right meds but it's very piss poor the service I received today. This was ny first time at Thrive and I won't be back. I would just rather take my dog somewhere and use his insurance than try to take the cheaper route and it definitely shows at this Thrive location. Ok I have had it with Thrive. I no longer have trust with this location or the location in Katy (this location put my dog in the hospital). Communication is horrible and untrustworthy, they always seem unorganized and had a little trouble finding my dog in their "new system". I placed a call at 2pm yesterday to pick up flea medicine and received an email (12 minutes before they close )that I can come pick it up "at my earliest convenience". I arrive today at 12:20pm, waited for a few minutes before someone even came out to greet me. There was another technician that saw me from the back and asked her coworker if the lady at the front had been helped. A couple more minutes of waiting only to be told they sold the last one! The first couple of times we took a dog in it was OK. The price is good. Be careful of their scheduling times. But, today we took our youngest dog in for a spaying. We have 3 other older and larger female dogs. I picked her up and was shocked. Her incision is 3 inches long and exremely jagged. It just doesn't seem neat and tidy like I would expect. She is only about 16 inches from base of tail to neck and she weighs 15 pounds. All of our other dogs are much larger dog breeds and their incisions were never longer than 1/2 inch. They were also much neater and tidier. If you need puppies or kittens initial shots or yearly shots for your pets this is an affordable place. I would not trust them for anything beyond shots. read more

The thrive team was so sweet and nice with my fur baby. The Tech was so nice and explained everything to me in detail. Even the Vet was sweet and explained to me her plan for my fur baby. I was a little worried because I did see some negative reviews but decided to form my own opinion by actually making an appointment instead of going based on reviews. I really am glad I did. The facility is clean and wait time was not long at all. Granted I did show up 15mins prior to appointment time and filled all paper work the day prior. I got a free exam coupon on Facebook for new customers... my dog got a wellness check and two vaccines. I was on time and called when I was ready per covid instructions, waited outside at least 10 minutes past my appointment time. But that's ok..the main thing I was wondering was how much it cost to get his dental work and I did ask several times, before and after he was ready for the quotes...but I still haven't received an answer. I was thinking maybe an invoice would be sent via email or that they just text me the price range...anyway, I will look elsewhere for a professional dental cleaning. I would definitely come back here for vaccinations and basic check up needs. I use bivvy pet insurance that covers routine things like this as well so I'm expecting my check to arrive in the mail accordingly. TLDR: Don't take your pet here just because its cheaper. You get what you pay for and the need to take them to another vet for clean up after shotty work. Half assed work from a doctor who is more like a sales woman, also gets rude and defensive if you dare question her work. The techs and receptionist were awesome and welcoming. 9/10 i took my dogs in for shots. Each dog took at least 1hr.. for minimum shot package. 1st dog went fine, Dr. Rowlands was a bit condescending regarding my pet. *Did the exam which didnt have anything to do with my dogs neck* Started selling every service they offer and explained how its wrong of me if I dont get them done for her. I go back 2 hrs later (because they couldnt see both dogs at the same time) with my larger dog who has neck issues(IVDD) to get the SAME THING. I explained EVERYTHING to the tech and she was writing it down. I also explained that she does better when im not in sight and with a muzzle. Having explained to the tech her needs, i thought all would be well. She was crying a lot after being taken back but again i thought nothing of it because i explained her issues! I figured it was from anxiety. Doc comes in the waiting room and tells me she doesn't know why she cried so much during the EXAM but for her nail clipping she did good. I take her home. Shes acting strange but thats usual after shots for most dogs. This morning 9/11 when i wake up my dog doesn't even want to get up to go outside. She is showing signs of her IVDD flare up. I call the facility to speak with a manager who is unavailable and instead am directed to the doctor herself, as if she is going to admit to hurting my dog. I firmly believe Dr. Rowlands handled my dog roughly and caused her symptoms to flare and now im out $100 from her usual vet provider. When i was trying to save money in the first place. *** mind you, the exam shouldn't have had ANYTHING to do with her neck. Based on seeing the exam for my previous dog. Made an appointment for vaccine and at latst minute noticed she was scratching by her ear so when we filled out the online question form we noted it. Got their early when checking in questionnaire didn't go thru so the girl up front re did it for us. Got in the exam room and the tech was just not receptive or personal at all told her about the scratching and was needing some medicine for it that had worked that a different place had prescribed and was cut off and told that today was for vaccine only she would have to come back for that some other time. I have been putting off teeth cleaning because or the risk involved but was ready to lets do it and make an appointment for it later. But if we are their and you cant handle your business as in what is going on with my cat which is minor while I am hear then I cant see how I can trust them with anything else. This was the most impersonal visit I have had with a vet felt like me and my cat were just a number. Also it makes my cat nervous when I take her to the vet and I try to keep that to a minimum but they don't care about that. Also its easter weekend and they were not that busy schedule wise so maybe they wanted to leave early well I cancelled and will be going somewhare else. This is not my first issue with thrive the location on ella saw my cat for the scratching issue about 4 or 5 times and never checked her with a black light for ring worm which she had and was treated for somewhere else. Very nice, quick and best of all inexpensive. I took my baby during the Covid 19 pandemic for his annual appointment to the Aldine location. This was our first time at this vet. They meet you at the door, take you baby to the back, then call you before any procedures take place. They send a text for payment. It was very quick and easy. In and out in maybe 20 minutes. My only dislike was setting the appointment. The customer service needs a lot of improvement. Your not speaking to anyone at the location you plan to go to. It's a call center. They have no knowledge of vet care. They just set the appointment. They were a little rude and took forever to answer the phone. read more

First I want to start off by saying I was completely satisfied with my experience with the Vet. She was nice and very informative about my dog and even gave me advice on how to keep plaque from building. If the service had stopped here, I would definitely come back; however, it sadly did not. Honestly, I have never been lied to more time than my experience with Thrive on 1960. After my wonderful experience with the vet, I was checked-out by a tech who informed me that they did not have any Triflexis on-hand but will be more than happy to order it for me and have the pharmacy ship it directly to me. This was on 12/23/2017 so I was expecting some delays when she told me it should come within 5-10 business days due to the holidays. On 1/11/2018 (11 business days later excluding Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years) there was still no package and I became concern so I called in. I got Matt on the phone around 9:00am and asked about a tracking number. First he questioned me asking if I did purchase Triflexis from them or did I just receive a prescription Rx. I proceeded to tell him how I had paid $218 for a year's worth so I definitely hope it was the medicine I paid for and not some prescription. Finally about two minutes later after "he checked the system and found my order", he told me how he did not have the tracking number and that only the pharmacy had the number but he would call in to double check the status and have them call me back to update me with the whereabouts. At this point, I was a little concern if the order was ever placed in the beginning, but I agreed to wait "a little" and have the pharmacy call me back directly. TWO HOURS LATER, Thrive had called me back directly and this time it was a different vet tech (female), who began profusely apologizing to me about how the medicine had not arrived and that they did not know what happened but they DID place the order. She began to tell me about how "they'll put in another order with 1-Day Air delivery" and I should have it by 1/12/2018. Once again, I asked for a tracking number or I would be forced to dispute the charge, but the girl just told me she couldn't provide me with the tracking number. Honestly, I was a little annoyed, but just wanted to have my dog's medicine so I agreed and said I would wait but if the medicine was not in then I'll begin submitting my dispute. 1/12/2018: At 5:50pm I raced home from work to check the mail, AND THERE WAS STILL NO PACKAGE so I proceeded to call in AGAIN to check what happened. I got Matt on the phone again and asked him what had happened to my 1-Day Air package and why it was not delivered. He was telling me how everyone had already left and he was the only person left so he couldn't do anything but leave a note for the vet the next day to give me a call back. I was super pissed off at this point and told him how I was going to once again dispute my charge. I began the process of calling my credit card and was told that because there were multiple items (vet charges, vaccination, and the medicine) I would not be able to dispute the $218 out of the $300 charge and I could only dispute the whole amount. At this point, I was really frustrated and was willing to give Thrive ONE LAST CHANCE before I dispute the entire $300 since I didn't feel it was fair to dispute the full amount. 1/13/2018: By 10:30am I did not receive a call as Matt had mentioned so I proceeded to call in myself and got Kat this time. She told me how she knew of the situation and has the tracking information (HOW DID THEY GET IT NOW BUT NOT EARLIER?) and was going to e-mail it to me and have the vet personally call me. So about 2 hours later around 12:30pm there was no e-mail or call so I went in-person to talk to them. Another vet tech greeted me and started off by saying "Oh I thought she had already e-mailed you". I said "no, she has not" and pulled up my e-mail to show her. I then told her that I demanded my tracking order and this was the final request. So she went in the back for about 10 minutes and came back with a print out of UPS tracking number/screenshot to show me it was in route. After examining the tracking, I pointed out to them that this was 2-Day Air, not the 1-Day Air they had told me. Then I asked about the original order tracking status and they said they did not have any record of it. They began to tell me some "story" about how there was some storm delays and that is why I haven't received my medicine but should receive it by 1/15/2018". At this point, I was just mad that it took them that long to give me a simple tracking number but was content that I had some proof of the medicine's existence so I left. 1/15/2018: Almost a month after my dog's exam date we received the medicine (who knows how long it would have been if I had not contact). The medicine arrived in a very unprofessional packaging in a ziploc bag with a sticker when it usually comes in the original Triflexis box. read more

I can't say enough good things about this facility. Today I brought in my miniature schnauzer Antone. There was a mix up (most likely my old Macbook messing up) with the schedule, so my name wasn't there. She asked the vet if they could just squeeze me in, and she said yes. They told me it may be a little wait since I was a walk in, but there was no wait at all really. I saw three 4 different people (one being the veterinarian herself) come in and out of the room, which made things go really fast. Every time I go to the vet I cry because my dog yelps and cries from his shots. This visit was different. They knew how to comfort and distract him right away. He didn't cry at all! The services they offer are extremely affordable and they wrote me a prescription for triflexis because they didn't have it there. I was able to go across the street to petco and pick it up right away. When I got to petco the vet muzzled my dog and my dog was terrified and shaking the whole time. All the staff at Thrive were so friendly and helpful. I'm returning here with both of my dogs from now on. read more

The clinic was very clean- staff are nice and helpful. The price definitely a little bit higher than KAAWS (still cheaper compared to other clinic though) but if you have an emergency or forget to make your appointment then Thrive is your go-to. Do NOT go here. We were late for a follow up appointment today with my fairly new dog. The traffic lights in the area were out of sync because of construction on 290, which I get it. We were late for a 1pm appointment and we got there at like.. 1:15 maybe 1:20 and I expected a delay. But we weren't told that or anything. The woman in the lobby not knowing what was wrong with my dog, let her jump and be crazy while shes trying to heal a broken toe. We were there for a follow up but we were being treated like we had never been there before. Like.. you have our info and my dogs info on file. After waiting for at least 40 minutes we were moved to a room where we were told we would be seen in "just a minute" and we sat for even longer. Sitting in the exam room, we could hear the staff talking and giggling in the back room. After a while I peaked my head back there and saw at least three staff members, one of which was the vet that saw my dog the last time, just chatting and goofing off. Closed the door, sat back down. Another staff member walked in finally after another 15 minutes and mentioned how long we had been waiting. When I peaked my head in, that staff member wasn't one of the people I saw not working. So that means the staff had enough time to react, gossip, and THEN "try" to resolve the issue. When that tech finally came in it was basically "well you were late so its your fault we'll get to you when its convenient for us". This is so unacceptable. I've worked in customer service for YEARS and I've always been trained to kill customers with kindness whether they were in the wrong or not. I know and acknowledge we were late, but having to wait over an hour and a half was not ok on top of a staff member being combative. My mother has arthritis and was in so much pain waiting for that long. Safe to say we will NEVER be visiting a Thrive location after this. We are being held hostage until my dogs foot is healed because they have the original xray they took when it was fractured. Now we have to hope we can get a copy of that original xray so we can compare with a new one in the hopes shes healing ok. All I want is the best for my dog and the staff and their attitude at this location literally floored me. Shame. read more
