This church was really sweet. I came with a friend when I visited her and from parking staff to greeters to everyone in between, the place and people made you feel at home. It's a small to medium sized church so you felt pretty cozy. The sermon wasn't a "make you feel good only" sermon but a teaching a guiding of the Word which I appreciate. read more

Church should be a hospital for the broken-hearted, a refuge, a place filled with love and sincere fellowship shared by those fed by and hungry for the lifeblood that comes only from Christ. Thrive church is the epitome of all of these things. When you walk in to Thrive, the first word that comes to mind is love. Every time I invite a guest, that is the first thing they tell me--"I just feel so much love in that church." Thrive Church is not a place to see and be seen, to show up in your most expensive clothing. At Thrive, you come as you are. At this church, you are in God's house, not the pastor's house or the house of "the first family." All are welcome. Just as it will be in Heaven, there are people of all different ages and backgrounds. There is true fellowship and love that, in many instances, goes deeper then even familial ties. There is such a strong bond within the family of God at Thrive because we truly do bear one another's burdens, encourage one another, and forgive one another in love, just as we are commanded to do in Galatians and Hebrews. So many lives have been transformed in that place. Never have I seen so many adults be baptized for the first time. Thrive is all about showing God's love and giving back. We are not just about showing up on Sunday, but about loving one another and the community every day. I love that each small group lasts a semester, and each one has a community service project that they do together. There is also a food bank where people receive nourishment for their bodies, but also for their souls because they receive the Word of God. In short, if you feel like you are missing something in life, if you want to learn more about God, or if you feel like church isn't for you, come to Thrive, feel the love of Christ, and come to know Him for yourself. I am so excited about Thrive! From the first visit when we were greeted by Pastor Kevin, I felt welcomed and a sort of homecoming. It is not a big impersonal church. Too often, I have felt that churches are so driven to reach new people, that they forget the ones sitting in the seats each week. The messages are scripture based and hit you in the heart. No judgment, just encouragement. I don't feel beat up or bad about myself after a sermon. I feel joy in my soul and look forward to the next week. Everyone we have spoken to has been so nice and welcoming. Highest praise and best blessing - my 20 year old loves it here. In the beginning of January I began looking for a new church since moving down this way. I researched & researched until I found a couple that seemed to fit my family. I then started watching online services and began narrowing down my search. I decided about 2 months ago that I would start attending services in person with my family & found that Thrive Church was what we had been looking for the entire time. My family absolutely loves it there. My kids thoroughly enjoy going to Thrive Kids and my husband & I love everything about the service from the music to what the pastor preaches. Pastor Kevin is the BEST! Messages and worship are on point. Felt welcome from the first time I stepped one foot in the door. Growing and diverse congregation. Great opportunities to volunteer, join a small group and get children involved in learning about and loving Jesus. Campus Pastor Keith is a wonderful support, friendly and a great resource. The volunteers at the church are so dedicated and always smiling. Love the contemporary worship. Amazing cafe in the church to enjoy before service and chat up other members. My wife and I just relocated to Richmond and we have been looking for a church since we arrived. Thanks be to God that he led us to this place. My wife and I have never agreed on a church but this time our entire family loves it. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. We had a tour of the church and it was amazing. The child ministry is great and so are the people and pastor. The message was amazing, you could feel the love and the holy spirit is definitely moving in this place. My prayers have been answered, we can finally call a church home. They have groups for everyone and you can volunteer for almost any position in the church.
