Temperatures are checked daily and the kids are never running around with runny noses. Due to this I can count the number of days I had to stay home with a sick kid on one hand. Mr. Patel and staff are awesome! Another note they have a kitchen and cook meals fresh daily and no pork is served!

Our toddler daughter attended mountain park Academy from July 2020 to April 2021. During the last 4…read moremonths of her stay things became tense. Our daughter would come home crying most days and also started asking for "time out" while at home whenever we tried to redirect her from a behavior. For the amount of money you are paying to send your child here, we expected a kind, respectful environment but that is not what we experienced. Every report sent home had nothing but positives to say about our daughter. At pick up, we would often discuss the naps because she has mostly dropped her nap. Sometimes she would sleep and other times she wouldn't so we knew to put her to bed earlier that night. I followed their schedule on weekends and put her in her room for "nap time" at the same time as daycare but it was really her just playing quietly in her room, reading books in bed or singing. It was suggested that we find a food that would make her sleepy (guess what, there isn't one). Once we received a note saying that our daughter had a "hard time listening" when I asked for clarification I was berated by Harry, with pantomiming of how my kid had a tantrum the day before. I asked to take her home so that she would not cause a problem that day. Harry brought out my daughter along with everything in her cubby, I clarified I was not unenrolling her, just taking her for the day. Extremely unprofessional behavior. Later that week we had a parent teacher conference and we come to find out that our daughter was not napping (we were not surprised by this) but that she was disrupting the other kids in the room, crying loudly and waking the others up by running around the room. We were never informed about the other behaviors but were somehow expected to fix it. We asked for accommodations , can she go to another room, read books, color at a table and they were completely inflexible stating that is when their teachers need to take their breaks, clean and fill out the progress reports. We decided to look for a different daycare in the area and found a more suitable, caring group of folks that genuinely enjoy having our daughter. In the last 4 weeks we have not had any report of bad behaviors and we ask daily if there is anything going on. Our new daycare has flexibility around nap times and seems to be better equipped to accommodate a wide range of children and their individual behaviors

If you are looking for a place that is family oriented, structured, and promotes academic and…read moresocial development for your child, this is the place! I can't say enough great things about the experience my son had at A Unique Learning Academy. He began at age three and continued through first grade. The foundation he received has prepared him well! The administrative staff (Mr. & Mrs. Hunt) have been nothing short of amazing! They ensure that the children are loved, respected, fed well and provided the best opportunities to succeed. The teachers are also amazing and provide the structure, rigor and reinforcement critical to student success. A Unique Learning Academy has provided a foundation for my son that will last a lifetime! " Don't judge a book by its cover!" So true, this place is consistent with instruction, caring to…read morethe children and always have and maintain high expectations because of a child's potential. The owners Mr. and Mrs. Hunt love what they do. Mr. Hunt is the cook ( good hot meals at breakfast and lunch with extra incentives for academic excellence.) Mrs. Hunt is the Director, business driven, a teacher, mother and a friend. The school only goes to 1st grade and when your child graduates they are very well prepared for 2nd grade. My son is in the 99th percentile 3rd grade 6 month level in Reading, Language Arts and Math according to the ITBS test results, My daughter was 3rd/4th grade when she graduated from AULA as well. This truly is an unique place, phonics, counting, reading comprehension, computer, karate, weekly spelling test ( not the baby words either). Learning begins at 1 years old. The children enunciate their words and are challenged to be critical thinkers. The teachers care, know the children and parents by name, The rates are reasonable in relation to the results you will see in your babies. I definitely recommend this school to all parents with babies, toddlers and young ones. This is the right path to achieve the strong foundation for your children.

Bullying is not dealt with properly by the school and whomever in charge of that department. Kids…read moredo whatever they want and no repercussions for their actions. They rather jump to conclusions before even looking into the matter accordingly . Multiple complaints have been made while all the people who are supposed to protect your kids while in their care turns a blind eye without any concern. Today a fight erupted at the school bus stop which ended with my nephew in the hospital. Now the school justified the action and did not have any kind of empathy on the injured child. Everything is shoved under the rug while they go about their day!

I learned a lot from the other parents at the first parent/principal meeting of the year. Since my boyfriend's son began attending here, I've noticed there have been A/C problems, shortages of bus drivers (meaning there have been doubled routes), and other slight inconsistencies that concern most parents... myself included. However, all of these concerns were addressed at the parent/principal meetings I have attended. Seems the parents who have children that attended there the previous years have been extremely dissatisfied with the previous principal and the lack of interest for any of the parents' concerns about the children fighting, electric problems and whatnot. Now that there is a new principal and she seems genuinely concerned with all these things, it seems the parents are a lot more satisfied with the way the school is now being run. There is still a bus driver shortage and the parking lot gravel is still horrible, but at the moment those issues are out of her control.
