This place came highly recommended by my fellow co-workers so I had to try it, and it was JUST OK. I had the Tom Yum Soup, asked for it spicy. So I expected tons of flavor, but what I got was sweet soup. I also had the Crispy Golden Triangle, which was good but not the "Ohhh I just need to have it good." However, the ambiance was good, really cute place and nice décor. I was impressed by their food presentation. Small indoor seating, the outdoor patio was a little roomier. Wait time was ok considering it was the lunch time rush hour. Would I go back? Best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Everything I've ever tried here has always been good. From their pad Thai to their orange chicken, grilled pork, beef fried rice etc.. * I went back recently... eagerness/friendliness has gone down it seems. Food didn't taste as good. It seems like my worse fear predictions may come true... I drive on western quite a lot, and recently saw that Three Spice just opened. I made a mental note to check it out and had a preconsidered idea that it would be an "americanized" thai restaurant (ie. main menu being pad thai, curries, cheap lunch sets etc) that was reasonably priced and knew I would rate it a 3 or 4 star. I was pleasantly surprised. There are a few good things about this place. Its small, cozy and well decorated with a pretty good location. I believe a family runs it, and they all seem to be there daily and will come and chat with you. The menu is extensive and has items that upscale thai places might not have such as shrimp snack cracker, STICKY RICE (most thai restaurants especially small ones dont want to deal with making it) and thai noodle soups as well as most of the main entrees you're familiar with. Right now I'm muching on a thai beef salad which is good and not "watered down" (to meet american tastes - less basil, less chili powder, less sour, more onions and leaves). Prices are average, not too bad yet not super cheap so I believe its a good bang for your buck. One of the waitresses forgot to give me my to go thai iced tea then made it up and gave me two! she was really sweet. I tipped them nicely for a take out to help the business going and show support. I hope this restaurant doesn't lose it's genuiness as the weeks go on, and I'll be checking back regularly for the good food, nice atmosphere and not to mention the cute waitresses. Overall it is a great addition to gardena which is filled with novelty japanese restaurants, with this newcomer a welcome addition. read more

beef fried rice gave my 4yr old food poisoning... so for that reason, we're never ordering from this place again. always ordered from there before, just because it's the most convenient spot in the area when you're craving thai food, but we always recognized that the food was only "ok". if you want BBQ, the chicken tastes good, but the portion is small, not for sharing like most other dishes on the menu. other BBQ items have been consistently dry. the pad thai tastes good, but we've had better. the thai iced tea is sometimes prepared a little too sweet. the staff gets my order wrong about 25% of the time. certainly a cheap spot, but prices are a high considering the quality. read more

Big disappointment considering the hype. I use pad thai as litmus test for Thai food and this was the standard (overly) sweet sauce that people have come to expect and accept. The chicken (pad thai) was dry and flavorless and the shrimp (pad thai) were undercooked and still half cold. Other reviews praise the curry so if I'm in the neighborhood again I might try it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. read more

I like this place. It's nice and has a good crowed sometimes, but I almost feel like this place is a hit or miss. I have been there 3 times and 2 out of the three it wad good. Once during the week it was terrible service and food wad mediocre. So 2 out of 3 isnt bad. The food is amazing, the restaurant is nice and quaint. And the location is nice. After reading reviews, my friend suggested we come enjoy a meal at this restaurant. We loved it! I especially loved the decor and the very modern setup of the place. Most of all, we had a very pleasant and delicious meal. The service was excellent, the meal was served promptly (we did not wait more than 10 minutes for our food), and the small restaurant atmosphere allows one to have an enjoyable and peaceful conversation. My friend and I had eggplant with shrimp, which was GREAT! We also enjoyed Pork Pad-Thai with our Thai Iced Teas. The owner (I am guessing) was not helpful at all, its a very small place. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I figured since I ordered CASHEW nut CHICKEN I would get mostly CHICKEN and CASHEWS. Apparently the cook doesn't think so. My lunch came with only a few small pieces of chicken but what seemed like a cup full of water chestnuts. A few? Ok. A cup full? Overwhelming for the dish. The flavor was also somewhat lacking and on top of that, the guy who took my order over the phone was rude! I gave 3 stars because the food was edible, prepared in a timely manner and the prices were good.
