I love the The Greys Riding School, all of the staff are really friendly and helpful, and the instructors are brilliant.
When I first arrived I was pretty nervous, but the staff are very
encouraging and happy to help with anything. I was a complete beginner,
and everything was explained to me in a clear, but not patronising way. I
had a group lesson, and while there were quite a few people in the
lesson, so the instructor's attention was obviously divided, the
instructor still managed to keep an eye on everyone, and help everyone
with their posture etc. If you're a beginner then someone walks
alongside you, leading the horse, which I really appreciated as I was so
nervous to begin with. The leaders were really nice, they asked if I'd
ever ridden before and reassured me when I told them how nervous I was.
After the half hour lesson we went on a hack up the South Downs. I felt
that this bit was a little bit short, but I think the lesson overran
which was why. Again the leader came with me, which helped me to feel
comfortable as I knew the horse wasn't going to run away or anything
like that.
Overall, I had a fantastic first lesson, and I'd love to come back. I
paid £29 for my lesson and hack, which totalled an hour spent on the
horse, and I believe it's cheaper for children. I thought this was a
little expensive, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I paid for, and I don't
think that I paid any more than I would have paid at another riding
school. Overall I had a great time and will definitely be coming back! read more
