In the fall, they provide a fresh inventory of Christmas ornaments and have a licensing agreement with the Ohio State University. Since 1971, Mosser Glass has operated as a family owned business with molds provided by a company in Wheeling, WV. This American manufacturer preserves the rich, long-standing history of glassmaking in Cambridge, Ohio from the 1800s to the 1950s. Definitely worth the stop if you're looking for a decorative gift to bring home!

What a cool experience. I have begun a fascination with glass blowing and so seeing Mosser Glass…read morewas really cool. They are still in production. Mosser came about from an employee who used to work for Cambridge glass and started Mosser. While the tour wasn't as historical as the Cambridge glass tour was, it was still a great experience. Mosser lets you go back and actually watch them make the glass pieces they are working that day. The day we went they were making their cake platters and how fascinating it was to watch them up close "do their thing". It is an assembly line all done by humans. From pulling the glass to pouring it in the mold to taking the molded glass to the next stop to get the base added to then it being put in the chiller that takes 3 hours on the conveyer belt to cool down and it still comes off the belt warm to the touch (even after 3 hours in the chiller). This was a great stop. Free tour but they love to get you with their gift shop. We debated about some salt and pepper shakers and decided not to because they were expensive. Then found a smaller set in an antique store on our way home for MUCH cheaper . A cool experience and a fun thing to see them do their craft right in front of your eyes. Not sure how kid appropriate it is due to the nature of watching them work and being around HOT areas. Stop...it is worth it (as long as you get a tour to them producing glass).
