Dear three bears general store, Matt here please update your hours of operation, you are not open 9am you are open at 10am. This really put a damper on my morning plans. Also i do not appreciate the drug addicted patrons of your establishment yelling "they don't open till 10" in the parking. This startled me and made me afraid to come back for fear of my health and safety. I hope you can fix this as i would like to shop here but am currently to afraid. read more

Everytime we are in town we stop at this store. This go around, I am disappointed in how they are handling COVID as they don't enforce the mask requirements or limit the amount of people. I felt very uncomfortable. read more

Very cute store. Picked up some delicious candy apples and visited the three bears.

We ate at Sawyers Farmhouse for breakfast and they were advertising for this general store. Food was great! But Why would you put these bears in captivity to make a profit?! They are obese and so unhealthy looking from the pictures I saw on yelp. Call it extreme, but this is disgusting and I would never pay money to see an obese bear sit on the floor waiting to fed when I could see it in its natural environment. They look so much better that way. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more

Absolutely love the Three Bears General Store. Lost my wallet during a recent visit to Pigeon Forge Tn in August. A big thanks to Ms. Connie who went out of her way to send me a letter saying the wallet was turned in and I needed to call her to identify lost item so she could send it to me. A big thank you to whoever turned it in and to Ms. Connie. My wife and I love this store as it's been around longer than I can remember and it's always a must stop for my wife to shop at. So many neat things to look at and purchase. We never miss an opportunity to visit every time we come back to Pigeon Forge TN. The ice cream is excellent also. If you love animal cruelty--and, hey, who doesn't??--then you'll LOVE this store! Why would you want to buy cheaply made goods anywhere else when you can do it here and get to watch sad, lonely bears that have never seen the light of day? It's AMAZING. Oh, and you can pay to feed them--healthy things like Cheetos and peanuts. Bears don't need to roam or forage. Phooey on that. This place has something for everyone. We found some nice bear themed items for our new Gatlinburg place and I love hunting for sale/clearance stuff throughout the store. You could spend hours there. Definitely worth checking out. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! I frequently vacation to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and was completely appalled by the conditions of these poor bears. The bears have broken teeth, malnutrioned, and are showing signs (like rocking back and forth and walking in circles) of being seriously deprived/going crazy. These bears are stuck in these concrete pits constantly and this is one of the worst cases of animal cruelty I have ever seen. Seriously get your cheap touristy crap somewhere else. They are NOT a zoo, they do not take care of these animals. These bears are very sick and I will not ever step foot into this store unless the bears are relocated somewhere that can give them the help they need - not stuck in a pit going insane so some tourists will buy their cheap souvenirs. If you want to vacation somewhere and see happy and healthy black bears (and wolves, otters, rattlesnakes, petting zoo, etc) come to Ashevilles WNC nature center! It's only $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Support a community that takes care of their wildlife, and doesn't need to abuse animals to get tourists. read more

The bear feeding was fun, but sad....I can't believe this store is allowed to keep bears inside of it.... -The gem store attached has very rude employee's...I walked up to a sales counter with 2 sales people sitting behind it. They carried a conversation about how this woman's house was on fire and things they had to do during the shift of the store....I had to interrupt them in a conversation about nothing to get service. News flash- in a retail store your main objective is to sell things to people, I shouldn't feel like I am getting in the way of your conversation to purchase an item at your store. read more

Honestly as a regular yelp reviewer I try my best not to steer people wrong and am honest and up front on my reviews. This store is nice. It is a typical tourist stop/store, but they do have some nice things. Personally I would rather go 5 miles north to giant knife store on other side of highway that also has awesome home display items down stairs. As for the three bears, if you go...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY TO SEE/THE BEARS! They are not North American black bears! They are all the typical Asian bears you can see in ANY zoo at home for probably less!!! Don't be fooled!!! read more

On our last day in TN, we needed to go souvenir shopping an decided to head into Three Bears. I really wanted to see bears but was a little hesitant. First off, the store is larger than it looks on the outside. They have so much in there that we ended up buying most of our souvenirs inside. They were also reasonably priced and pretty decent quality. We ended up viewing the bears and the man at the counter told us that they were sleeping and that there wouldn't be much to see. He was honest with us and we were so impressed with that. Since it was our last day there, our kids wanted to see the bears anyways and we saw them sleeping.The bears were kept in a clean area and they looked as comfortable as they could be. I could've wandered around the store a little longer and the kids had a nice time! read more

This is one of those stores in which you leave with a headache. It's crowded, everything is shiny, and half of the merchandise either sings or makes some kind of noise. If you've got sensory issues, definitely throw on some shades and wear your noise-canceling headphones. The aisles are crowded so that every time you walk down one, you are going to knock something over. (And I'm a trim--and good-looking, though I guess that's not relevant here, despite it being very, very true--man, who should easily be able to prance down an establishment's aisles without endangering the merchandise.) And while the store is huge . . . well, I just thought there'd be cooler stuff in there. How much SEC merchandise can a person own? There's nothing much on the first floor you couldn't find in any other general store in the South, which sort of makes the place lose its appeal. Like most other stores in the US, it's a warehouse for mass-produced cheap items no one needs. You know what you're going to see. However, I did enjoy the Christmas section. Some of the ornaments were, if not unique, not something I usually see elsewhere. There are better places to go. Go to a store that sells handcrafted items before going here. If you do go, get ready to pop some Tylenol. read more

We found out about this store in December 2018 we have been back to pigeon forge 3 times since then and this is one of our main stops while in pigeon forge. They have a huge selection and the homemade fudge is amazing. All the other candies look and smell so good. read more

having been to Wall Drug in South Dakota, and having heard of South of the Border, I had an inkling of what to expect coming into the Three Bears. And I was not surprised. That being said, I liked everything I saw about the place. It had a lot of neat items, trinkets, and souvenirs. Prices are reasonable, and there was a lot to do. If you're willing to pay for it, you can see the live bears. You can see the large selection of Christmas decorations, and even get an "old time" picture taken. The nice thing about this kind of tourist trap is that you only pay for the entertainment you want. I spent a half hour and everyone was happy. A surprisingly pleasant and inexpensive stop while in Pigeon Forge. read more

I have been coming here since i was a kid in the 80's and watched it grow to what it is today.It is a one stop shop for all your souvenirs needs.first floor is taffy clothes jewelry and typical nick nack stuff.On the 2nd floor which you can take an escalator or an elevator for the handicapped.Is a small arcade, old time photo shop,Christmas shopp and you can see the live bears up here the conditions for this is the same as a zoo. read more

I have been visiting the Three Bears gift shop for years, even before it was renovated following a fire several years ago. On my family's (my wife, our 7-year-old son, our 3-year-old son, and I) most recent trip, we decided to see and feed the bears. This was the first time I had seen the new enclosure following the fire, and I was thoroughly impressed! It is a nice, big, natural looking enclosure with three levels to see the bears from. You feed them on the bottom floors via tubes on the side of the enclosure (this is much better than just throwing it at them in the old set up). Oh, and there were actually four bears on display! All four of us had a great time! read more

Its an all in one shopping experience. We always stop here and this year we were shocked that they were open at 10pm but glad because we bought some last minute souvenirs and homemade apples and fudge. A fun, non-sleezy souvenir shop to check out. They have a snack bar, and also a bear that walks around (not a real one, a person dressed up as one). They do have bears that that are being held in captivity upstairs that you can see. Overall, it's a souvenir shop, non-sleezy, family friendly, and they have homemade fudge and other nom-noms. read more

We had a chance stop here accidentally but had a great experience. If you are looking into affordable bear viewing experience, this is a place to go to. You can buy bear food to feed them too but hours are limited. I would recommended. Staff is friendly too. read more

This place is chaos inside. Overwhelming. But if you're into shopping you may love it. They have tons of merchandise and unique gifts to offer for everyone. The bears cost $3.25 a person to see. Sad to see people throw food towards them just to try and wake them up. My 2 year old loved looking At the bears and we made him use the designated chutes to put the food in, not let him throw the food into the enclosure, and he enjoyed the experience. read more

Would leave 0 if able. These people close or open whenever the heck they want. The website says open til midnight, but we showed up at 750 pm and they said they were closing up and too bad. My 5 yr old started getting so upset because all she wanted to do was see the bears. This place should be ashamed of themselves. The manager was so rude and the employee standing at the ice cream window laughed at my crying child as she was denied access for not the store and the ice cream window at 750 pm. Will never go back. This place was pretty cool. There are souvenier shops up and down the Parkway. This one was a little different. I really liked the Christmas shop upstairs and we even played a few of the old arcade games in their upstairs arcade. Downstairs they had some decent prices on various food and clothing items. I found some great Coca-Cola items and my wife found some Barbies in the Christmas store. We will probably check this place out next time we are in town. read more

You cannot come to Pigeon Forge without visiting this store. We look forward to shopping here every time we come.

I'm torn about this place. I don't like that Yelp labels a 3-star review as "A-OK," and a 2-star seems too low. I went with the higher.. This place is a bit overwhelming. There's candy, fudge, knick-knacks, airbrushed t-shirts (we bought two), an old time photo place, and yes, those sad bears you can look at and feed. We didn't see everything they had as my 2-year old son lost his mind. Lost. His. Miiiind. Thankfully, the place was busy on a Thursday afternoon and no one seemed bothered by yet another kid throwing a tantrum. Before he was unbearable and had to be taken outside with my husband, we saw the bears. At first I was thinking, "not so bad, the bears don't seem so miserable.." Then I saw a small family of hillbillies throwing fruit at Papa bear. The place allows you to throw food for the bears for a small fee. These people took it a step further and not only threw the food at the bear's face, but got their child in on it. All of them were laughing as the bear got snapped in the face each time. I was appalled that we'd brought our own kids here for them to see this. Thankfully, our kids are small and didn't see how sad this situation was. On top of that, when we went through and looked at our photos we took, we zoomed in and saw it looked like the bear(s) were missing teeth. Not sure if they were intentionally pulled or fell out with age, but it seemed really sad. I think everyone else summed up all there is to know about seeing the bears here, but if you do go see them, please don't be like the family we saw being unruly trash. We had t-shirts made and the man doing them was helpful. I wish we'd gotten more time to poke around here, but again, my son couldn't deal and we left. read more

We did the old timey photos at Three Bears General Store and not only were they 40% cheaper than others we called to check on, Shannon the photographer was FABULOUS to work with. She was so patient and we had a party of 14, which included 6 kids. Also check out the feed the bears exhibit in back! This is definitely the place to do old timey photos in Pigeon Forge! read more

If I could I would give them no stars. We take my grandchildren ages 3 and 4 in there on Saturday March 13th to get pictures done. Wait time was decent for the afternoon. We get the pictures done and they tell us to come back in 15 minutes to look at the pictures. We come back and order the pictures and pay for them which was extremely expensive but I wanted the memories of our grandchildren. Please check prices before starting them because did not realize there was a sitting fee on top of the extremely pricey photos. After the purchase was made they tell me they will email the digital photos along with the copyright by 7:30 that evening. Long story short never got the pictures they never returned the 6 phone calls with messages left and when I did get to speak to a person they couldn't help me and had me leave a message. All messages were made during business hours. Our vacation was over and no photos were ever received. We had to leave before they were open but they should have had the decency to return my phone calls. I do not recommend. read more

I went three stars to provide the benefit of the doubt. We visited three bears based on a coupon in one of the many books that all the tourists collect. We weren't really impressed by the fact that we had to pay to see the bears and kind of felt like the advertising should have reflected that. At $3.50x4 we simply decided it wasn't worth it. Nothing said it was free so it wasn't misleading at all, just not as forthright as maybe it could have been. We felt it was more like a gimmick to get you in the door and buy other things. They had a ton of "stuff" that could be found at any other store on the strip. It isn't some place I'd hit again on a return visit. read more

This is a great store because it includes a bunch of things from my list of things to do so it saves us the headache of traffic and crowds by not having to go to separate places. It has the main store, an ice cream/smoothie/icee shop, a candy/fudge store and an arcade in it. It also has an old west photo place inside. The store has decent prices (actually great compared to other ones in this area) and they have tons to choose from. They even have a small build your own bear machine inside for kids to make their own stuffed animal. They also have a three bears out back that you can pay to see and feed. My kids love doing this. The best thing about this store is the water massage. Good lawd it is what dreams are made of , seriously worth the money. It's on the top floor and for $15 you get 11 minutes of Heaven. We all did it and agreed it was so relaxing and rejuvenated us to do more shopping. The store was not particularly stuff I cared for but they did have Christmas ornaments that could be personalized and the lady who did them did an amazing job ! read more
