I was apprehensive to call the funeral home at 2 am on a week night, but did anyway as we needed help with arrangements and were clueless about the effort involved to transport across state lines, etc. They answer the phone in person 24 hours a day and provide the most sincere comfort and guidance during a very stressful and traumatizing time. Brian, Brad, and Mark were very sensitive to our concerns and took care of every detail to bring our Father to rest in Minot. They offer a private viewing for the family to come to terms with the departed. My Father had lost 60 pounds in the last year and his facial features had changed. Thomas made some adjustments to present him in a very peaceful way. All of the planning for the viewing, funeral, and burial was coordinated by Thomas funeral home, which allowed for a single point of contact. They also made sure my Father received military honors during the funeral service and taped the service and burial at Benedict rural cemetery. I know Brad and his team were working at 6 am the day of the funeral. They blocked out parking for the family at the church and set up a wind barrier at Benedict cemetery for us. There are so many other details to their service, trust me when I say they are the best. I have never encountered a funeral home in CA that covered all the bases or even provided a professional service at this level. There was no detail left undone, there was never an unanswered phone call, there was never a 'no' to my many last minute ideas. They made me feel like I was their only client and my mom was their primary concern. Her viewing and funeral service were flawless and they facilitated a local motorcycle group's request to escort my mom's processional to the cemetery. They didn't blink an eye when I asked to watch my mom's casket being lowered into her vault and the vault lid closed. And they continued to work with me because it's not over once the funeral is over. If you have never buried a loved one that comes as a bit of a shock - death certificates, thank you notes, social security ... it seems like it never ends but they never gave up on me and STILL always answer my calls. You can depend on these guys and trust me, that's exactly what you'll need when you find yourself in this situation. I cannot thank them enough. Ever.

This is long overdue, but in 2010, my mother passed away. It was late at night, and only reached the secretary and she didn't seem to know much of anythign except how to take amessage. We waited, and the next morning one director called back. He appologized for their delay and assured everything would be okay. I trusted him. We got to the mortuary to make arrangements later that afternoon, had to wate 15 minutes for the director because he was ona long distance call. The prices for what my mother wanted were high I thought. I live in fargo and compared to the prices we experienced just a few months prior for my father in law, they were high. The director who arranged the service at first luthern said he had everything in order. Not the case, we got to the church and some of the photos were not set up and there were not enough seating for the family. About 5 minutes after the service, I was presented with cards, thank yous etc from the director and he left. I reflected on this today. Mom's birthday, and I thought I should share becasue I have kept it bottled up inside. I would urge you to seek other care in terms of morticians in minot!!
